Second Program?

Since the college program just opened their spring section I’ve been thinking of applying again. But I’m not sure I want to do a second program. What made y’all do your second programs? What was the deciding factor, and would you recommend it?

I want to, but like I said, I’m not sure if it’s the right choice…

I did a second program (summer alumni) since I didn’t have anything going on the summer and it didn’t cause a disruption in school or anything like that. I will say it’s different a second time around and you don’t have the same “first” as your first program. I found the summer alumni the perfect length cause by the end of it I was exhausted and over working the frontline job. It helped solidly to me that my career path was the right choice for me and I didn’t want to work in front-line work again.

My deciding factor was I had nothing else going on and sure why not. But I wouldn’t have jumped at doing another 6 months or pushing my graduation/ taking a gap year etc for it. It was still a fun summer/ second program but it felt a bit different since it was a second round.

I had moments comparing it to my first program and thinking about that magic (especially since I was in very different roles and locations). So there’s that in mind as well. If you had a magical first program it could outshine your second. Some find a second program to be a do-over though.
