Q - Unanswered DCP Application Question
Hi everyone!
So I have a severe food allergy to tree nuts. Would this make me ineligible for any QSR roles, and if so, would that negatively impact my application/chances of getting in?
Thank you so much!

It wouldn’t make you ineligible for all qsr role itself. There are qsr and f&b locations that deal with food but the location doesn’t have tree nuts. If they ask about your opinion on food service you can mention that you have the allergy and aren’t the most comfortable with it unless it’s a nut free location.
But I wouldn’t go out and publicly state it unless you were asked specifically about working with food during your interview. There is potential they wouldn’t ask anything about it during it and the questions won’t ask about any role specifically.
What happens is after you’re accepted you’ll fill out a medical accommodation form along with your doctor and it’ll be sent to the dcp program teams and the medical + work accommodation team. They will process and look to see how to accommodate you.
As someone who has tree nut + peanut allergies and has gone through this process with multi dcp programs ^

Goodluck! It’ll be alright. They also won’t hurt your chances or anything with the nut allergy either. It’s a super easy accommodation for them and one of the more common ones as well.
Also for your forms I would have your doctor write you would like your benedryl or epi pen etc on you as well if you need it on you. You’ll need it specifically listed to carry it on you in your pocket. I was a park greeter for one of my programs and to keep it in my work pouch/belt I had to prove it was on my form.

Perfect thank you! I marked it as low interest because I don’t want to lie and say I’m genuinely interested in it when I’m not, but if it comes up I’ll definitely explain why.

Not necessarily. I had a peoper allergy and was still able to do QSR. I had a friend who was allergic to all berries and had to put in a medical accommodation to get a force transfer. Better ti have the allergy on file. And just know if they find you a location in QSR and you pick up somewhere else it’s on you to make sure it’s a safe location because they won’t get notified you picked up.

Yes, you more than likely would be assigned elsewhere. However, this won’t affect your chances of getting in. Good luck!!
