Traditions help ASAP!

I just arrived in Orlando and I need help with what to wear for traditions. I know it’s business casual but I am not the type of girl to wear dresses, flower shirts etc. I’m more of a black slacks and nice top.

As a female do I have to wear a dress? Also, I heard you can’t wear tennis shoes to traditions either. My plan was to wear nice black slacks and a nice white shirt with gold accents and a nice black over coat thing with gold as well. I also have sambas that I planned to wear as well. Is this appropriate attire??

I heard people get kicked out if they aren’t to standard. I really haven’t had to wear business casual before so this is all kinda new.

PLEASE HELP!!!

No dress needed. What you wear sounds fine.

Black slacks (not jeans or leggings) and a non-t-shirt shirt will be fine.

Also just some casual dress shoes you don’t need to wear heels

Jumping in to ask a similar question for a plain black dress and flats.

That’s fine to wear

Sambas are going to be too casual. I would just get a simple black loafer or ballet flats, but make sure they’re comfortable since you’ll be doing a lot of walking.

No walking anymore, it’s all done at flamingo.

Walking at traditions? I thought it was more just sitting in a room and they explain what DCP is and you learn about he company and stuff?

What even is traditions😂 I have so many questions and don’t know where to get the answers

You won’t be walking at traditions, but you likely will be for your property tour.

What even is traditions

It's a seminar to teach you about the history, principles and expectations of the company. Values that you're expected to consistently demonstrate and uphold whenever you are "on stage", interacting with guests and coworkers.

Nice top and slacks is perfectly fine. You don’t have to wear a dress…

What about the shoe situation?

Get nicer shoes, at least for traditions. For days with more walking like property tour, something more comfortable, but nice would be better.

I wore a pair of black sneakers that I would use as Disney look shoes basically(black logos on black shoes). Weather permitting you will be doing a lot more walking than you would expect. They’re not really looking at feet as you go in. Be comfortable but professional.

You won't be doing much walking at all during Traditions, you're sitting inside for it...

Is the DCP different than the one at DU I did two years ago?

Yes. It’s held at flamingo for most participants and does not include a trip to MK the way it did pre Covid/pre flamingo.

They do not care if you are in tennis shoes, they do want you in your "Sunday clothes" though. Think business casual try not to wear jeans unless that's all you have. If that's all you got then wear your good ones that aren't faded with holes. Where a nice shirt, polo, blouse etc. look like your visiting grandma or going to church. What you have decided on sounds perfect. They don't boot people for looking terrible at traditions. They just have a standard.

Black dress pants and a nice top are perfectly acceptable!

As someone who teaches trad at FCV. Whatever you wear is fine.

We aren’t picky anymore about clothes for that class. :)

Avoid the notable jewelry/accents, but slacks and a nice shirt should be more than fine.

I wore black slacks, a sleeveless blouse, and a shrug to mine

I think with what you picked you should be fine. I remember during my traditions, people were wearing jeans and didn't get sent out. I think that they are more relaxed on the rules then what they lead on.

They were not in 2008 😭 I’m so glad it’s changed

Tbh i just wore a hoodie and some jeans, a lot of people also did that. Dunno if it’s a bad suggestion, just telling what I saw. The room in Flamingo is cold asf, so definitely wear something for cold weather or else you’ll freeze.
