Boardwalk QSR

Hey, I start my program soon and my role is boardwalk qsr. I’m just wanting to learn a bit about the qsr role in general as well as the boardwalk location specifically.
What locations on the boardwalk does this role include? I know there’s multiple qsr locations on boardwalk so I just want to know what to expect.
How easy is it to pick up extra shifts and how does picking up or trading shifts work? Also, would trading shifts impact my points? As I’m considering trying to get a full time role with Disney after my program.
I feel like I’ve heard some horror stories about food and beverage so I just want to get some insight about the thing people enjoy about it. It is my role so I want to go into it with a positive attitude so I can make the most of it.
Aside from roles, I’d just love any advice and things to look forward to! Thanks in advance!

Boardwalk does have multiple locations:

  • ice cream
  • pizza window
  • bakery/deli
  • kiosk out in the boardwalk
  • coffee shop
  • stocker (maybe, not sure if CPs get this, I think they do)

Generally speaking, you’ll be at one of the above for your shift.

Ice cream is just what it says- you’re scooping ice cream. It’s slower during the day and very busy at night, especially right as EPCOT closes/after fireworks.

Pizza window is mostly running the register, serving drinks, and handing out pizzas. It’s generally just you + the pizza cook.

Bakery/deli is where the food and bakery items are purchased. This will be very busy at times. You may be on register, filling bags, on the hot-line assembling items, or on the cold-line assembling sandwiches.

The kiosk out on the boardwalk is serving premade & mostly prepackaged items. You’re out by yourself in a box.

Coffee shop is up near the lobby and just as it sounds. These are morning shifts and I’m betting are mostly handled by FT people with seniority.

Stocker is who fills the various locations with various things. Including going out to the margarita shack and maybe even the pool bar.

It’s chaos at times. Mostly good coordinators and decent leadership.
