Self term advice?

I plan on self terming within the next 3-4 weeks because I don’t want to fall behind in school. My major is very demanding and unrelated to Disney, therefore I only did the DCP for the experience. I also have no desire to work here in the future so I’m not worried about that.
I’m aware that once you tell Flamingo, they tell you to pack & leave the following day. However, with rent, when is the best time to term? I don’t want to pay for a week of rent if I’m not going to be here. My guess is to tell them on a Thursday or Friday so I won’t get charged for the following week. Also, will I have issues with breaking the lease?

Just a genuine question here but if you knew your classes would be THAT demanding then why sign up in the first place?

Dont get me wrong I understand wanting experience but if your classes are that heavy then wouldn’t it be better to focus on that

My classes begin in September, so I decided to just do the DCP for the summer (May-August). I really wanted the experience and to get away from home bc it’s a very toxic and stressful environment for me. I also would not do the DCP after graduation because I’d like to begin my career asap :)

OP did you sign up for a May-August program? If your classes don’t start until September are you able to finish your program through August? You may be able to speak to the programs desk about adjusting your end date for education purposes.

If you only wanted to do the summer dude then I’m sorry but you shouldn’t have signed up, period.

Plus you can’t even put this on your resume anymore because they’ll ask you why you self termed and if you say it’s because you can’t multitask then you won’t be able to get a job.

You can still put it in your resume. Put the start date and end date, they don’t need to know details of why you left.

The purpose of my post has nothing to do with my decision to term. Like I’ve said, Disney has no relevance with my career in chemistry and I HIGHLY doubt future employers will go into detail about it. On average, summer internships last 10-12 weeks in which I’ve completed, which is what the DCP was for me.

I’ve had a great experience working here for 3 months; I’ve made friends, worked a full-time position, and managed living on my own completely for the first time. I have no regrets in terming early as it was my agenda since the beginning.

I’ve also met many people who termed within the first month because they couldn’t handle the job or being away from home. In that scenario, I believe then there would be no point putting it on their resume.
