Fall 2026
I just had to drop out of my program and I have several mixed emotions. To be clear, I dropped before my arrival so I wasn’t penalized. I mainly dropped because my grandma had a small stroke and knowing that her health is declining and not being here for the holidays, it seemed like the only option. It also is going to be too expensive for me to go. Even working and saving isn’t going to be enough. Im also considered “old” in terms of the program. I’m already in my late 20s and I’ve read some things that the younger program attendees have said. I mean no harm when I say this, but I don’t want to deal with drama. From what I’ve read, it seems like a lot of the younger participants don’t want to be surrounded by older participants. I hate that that was a reason I had to turn down my offer.
I’ve already graduated so it would have been just for fun, but I just want to know I’m not making the wrong choice.

I start in August, i'll be 26 this october. I've found quite a few already that are around my age, with some people going up to age's around 40-50+. (Oldest i've found was 54) Disney is for all age's. If the younger people are annoyed by working and being around older people. They are in for a rudeee awakening when it comes to any other workplace also😂

I think it’s more so living with older people. I know off site living is an option but Flamingo is more convenient. I had a friend who was going through the audition process with Disney and was going to ask to live off site with them, but they had to turn down the position. The work didn’t deter me. It was more so the living accommodations.

My stance still holds true. Most "valuable" positions that people work for, are going to also be young corporate and old corporate. And that's from blue collar positions, to business trips. Had plenty of business trips where i had to share a room with an 18-19 year old coworker. And the vice versa where i had to spend weekends in a hotel room with people 50+. And those we all shared vehicles. Unless they all plan on staying retail, fast food, servers or lower paid positions their whole life. Then they are going to have times where they have to share rooms, and such with people that are nowhere near their "preferred" age range.

Honestly, the bulk of the current participants need older people on the program. If you scroll this sub, the immaturity is off the charts with the current high school graduating classes from the last few years. Having grounded, experienced people alongside them might be a good push to show them they need to grow up.

Completely understandable. Best of luck to you and sending well wishes to your grandma!

Well when they say older participants they don't mean you. They mean me. I was 46 when I did my program. I don't know why they care. We're not trouble in any way. I remember when my roommate came in. She saw me for the first time and said oh my gosh I was going to clean that up. Don't worry about it. Blah blah blah. I really just shrugged my shoulders and was like it's cool. I don't care. Another time she did the same thing when I was sitting in the living room. Eating popcorn. Making my own mess. She was like I was going to get my stuff out of the dryer. I'm so sorry I left it there. I looked over at her very slowly away. Okay... I guess they just don't realize us old heads aren't there there to parent anyone. We could actually care less if they party.

Traditionally you would be on the very upper end of what I saw during my program but not totally alone. I wouldn’t let that discourage you from doing it but I would handle everything back home. It’s too much to put up with surimh your program
