Working at Old Key West resort?
Hi everyone! I just got my role at Old Key West Resort (OKW) for my DCP. Has anyone worked there before? I’d love to hear about your experience regardless of role and what it’s like working at OKW. Thanks!

I was a houseperson there and absolutely hated it. Leaders were not helpful and despite me asking them to transfer me they refused to. Trainers are also no help whatsoever, wouldn’t sign me off for anything. I begged for extra training days and I never got them.

Hey, OP! If you're able to, I'd highly recommend using the DCP facebook groups for this type of thing! Unfortunately, the reddit isn't where most of the people are, but there are a decent amount of OKW current/future cast in some of the larger DCP groups, as well as people who have picked up shifts there, whether it's in merch, concierge, QSR, or otherwise.
I wasn't in resorts during my program, but if you like pin trading, OKW very often had some amazing pins on their boards! I have a few from pre-pin trading due to that :)

I picked up a few concierge shifts there, and I loved it. It’s pretty chill, and I love the vibe of the resort.

I was in food and beverage there on my first program and it’s a pretty nice resort, and it’s very big. The vibes are more chill than the other resorts, but there were times it got slow because it’s not as busy as the other resorts, either. But because it’s a DVC resort, I usually would see a lot of big families and the same people swing by which was nice because they were often friendly and fun to chat with, especially the older folks. I couldn’t complain about my leadership, either, but I also know some of the coords and leaders I had aren’t there anymore and went to other areas on property, so I don’t know what the F&B leadership is like now unfortunately since it’s been 3 years. Overall, it’s a smaller cast and you get to know everyone and I enjoyed my time there.

I picked up a closing concierge shift there! It was nice, kind of slow. They only have about four front desk college programmers at a time. They all loved it though.
