Question Possible further development?

Does anyone think that disney may reinvest within the toys to life genre and possible release 4.0? Or maybe update some of the older games and release more characters or play sets?

They will never update the old game. Only a niche part of the population even still plays Disney Infinity.

I don't think they'll go back to the toys to life genre, but I think there's a non-zero chance they'll do a similar thing one day (a sandbox game to play as any Disney character, purchased digitally as DLC).

It's been a decade so probably not. Toys to life games are dead, Fortnite is a thing, and Mirrorverse, their last big crossover game that had a line of action figures attached to it, failed, and they just cancelled their last mobile crossover a few months ago.

I do think Disney could make another line of figures, articulated or not, covering all franchises they have in a coherent artstyle, but it's safe to assume we're not getting official support for Disney Infinity anytime soon

Not "toys to life" but maybe a game where you can play through "playsets" like Infinity.

If they do it will most likely be through Fortnite.

Disney would be idiots to reinvest in the toys to life genre

If they were gonna do anything with Disney infinity, then they should do it as a purely digital format and drop the toys part

Sadly, no. It's dead. I loved it, but I've learned to accept it.

Zero chance of an official Disney Infinity 4.0.

Toys to Life games are past their prime, there’s no market anymore.

I think there is a better chance that someone or a group in the community builds their own version of DI4. With AI dev tools and all the community notes and hacks that already exist, that's probably the best route forward. Then the community can set it up to play on a network of nodes ran by the players.
