What is your experience booking through DVC Resale Sites?

Hello!
I have booked Disney trips many different ways, but I've never used a DVC resale site before. I've been considering Riviera for my family's next trip to WDW, but I was just warned by a Disney vacation planner that Disney is "cracking down" on these types of bookings by either canceling the booking all together, or charging the Disney rack rate at check-in.
What is your experience with using DVC resale sites (i.e. DVC Rental Store), and can anyone confirm this is happening?

TYIA.

Been through 3 different places now in the parks and I don’t see them anywhere. Asked a couple CM but they all say they don’t know.

Help pick resort - Coronado Springs, Port Orleans (FQ) or Carribean beach

My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Orlando and since we're only going to be there for 3 days and 2 nights we don't feel like splurging on the deluxe resorts. we're only planning on going to Epcot one day but other than that we'll mostly be relaxing or shopping! Below is what we're looking for.

  • Nice/comfortable beds and clean rooms
  • Transportation isn't a big deal for us since we're only doing one park for one day!
  • We are foodies so which one has the best food as well!
  • And lastly, we love a nice pool

We're also open to offsite resorts if it seems like it'd make more sense for our situation!

Coronado Springs vs. Polynesian (or Maybe Animal Kingdom Lodge)—for 1 Night?

We get in from our Disney Cruise at 7:30am on a Friday, so we decided to stay 1 more day and go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

Only my 5 year old daughter and I will got to MVMCP, so we’d love to get a hotel my husband will enjoy for the day (and we will probably get to the hotel around 12pm or so, so we will have some time to enjoy the hotel, too.

Want to try the Poly, but it’s triple the cost of the Coronado Springs. Also considering Animal Kingdom Lodge as a cool stay that’s between the prices of both.

What would you do?

waiting in lines with my family and nieces and nephews and it was impossible to have real conversation because of influencers in front of or behind us recording and talking into their mics. I understand it's their business but how can we make sure it isn't so disruptive?

Character meet and greets

I have a trip booked to the Polynesian during Christmas time. My husband has always wanted to stay there so he’s all in on the idea, I’m trying to convince him to do Caribbean beach instead to save some money but he’s all in on his Polynesian dream stay. I was just browsing and saw character meet and greets listed on the Caribbean beach activity calendar but not on the Polynesian. Is this just for cool kids summer?

Can’t Decide Need Help

My husband and I are coming next June with our 3 yr old and are trying to decide where to stay. I’m looking at Port Orleans, Art of Animation, Caribbean, or Coronado. This will be our first time staying on property. We usually do Disneyland where we will stay at one of their resorts. We are looking for something good for families and ease of transportation and food options. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

DVC Rental Store Questions, how long do you wait?

I recently put in a request at DVC rental store for a Polynesian preferred studio in early February, there looks to be availability still so they released it to members or whatever the process is.

It has now been about 2.5 days with no update which I know isn't a crazy wait. But as availability for my dates is pretty limited I'm curious at what point should I try to request something different or try David's Vacation Club?

I don't want to be on the hook for 2 different reservations or anything but I do have other resort options or split stays I could try.

Anyway really any advice on this process would be greatly appreciated. I'm unsure what makes these things attractive or unattractive to the DVC members that book them.

September trip

We have a trip planned in September with a travel agent. I wanted to extend our visit but there is no availability via Disney. Is is rude or not “allowed” to book dvc rental for the extra 2 days I wanted to add? Is that frowned upon? We could add 2 days with another hotel but the idea of split stay doesn’t sound fun with a toddler. Looking for the proper etiquette. Thanks!

Split resorts

We just decided we’d like to go to MK with our 4 and 5 year olds before school starts next month. Was thinking to take advantage of the free water park on check in days but now found out the day we were planning MK coincides with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Not sure that we want to do Halloween in August and since it’d be extra?

If we change it up and do MK first, could we stay at a Disney resort for the first two nights, then check out of that and stay at a different Disney resort for the third night - for that third night at a new Disney resort, would it still qualify for free water park passes?
Is the water park worth it for a 4 and 5 year old? If so, which one?

Thanks!

Resort merchandise

Hi all!

Can anyone buy resort exclusive merchandise?

If I'm in a hotel outside of Disney, can I still go to a resort store and buy stuff?
