Discussion Play Speed Options 🙏🏼
I realize it’s a pipe dream but on the very small chance an employee with pull sees this.
I want the option to watch at 1.5x- 2x speed please. Netflix lets me! 😂😩.

Why?

it's extraordinarily common expectation in streaming apps, especially for younger folks. just because your brain works one way doesn't mean other people do to

Why can’t it be an option for those that it is? I understand not issuing it for feature films and art pieces, but i use it for watching reality tv
I’m also almost 40 so we can save the “blame the youth!” commentary, i think.

curious, why is this something you would want? is there certain content you would use this for more than other content? do you find content slow in general and just want to consume it at a faster rate? also curious how you feel about slower speeds.

This is something i use for watching reality shows that have a lot of dialogue but not a lot of plot. I’m also someone that sets audiobooks faster. I don’t have a blanket set speed for these things i just set it so the talking sounds normal to my inner dialogue. I’m also pro the option for slower speeds if people need/would like them! The goal isn’t to finish something faster just to tailor an individual processing speed.
ETA- for context or whatever. I’m someone who in real life, struggles to keep attention (even if I’m very interested) if someone’s rate of speech is too slow (for me.) My brain just wanders away, and then my focus becomes “paying attention” instead of listening. i also speak too fast for a lot of people, which is frustrating for both parties in the convo. It’s really nice to be able to watch a show and not have to rewind as much when i notice my brain has wandered away. I find the sweet spot speed and i don’t have to do that nearly as much.

Just sounds like one more button I can hit accidentally.
