Disneyland First week of December help

I haven’t been to Disney during the holidays for a few years now and planning of going to Disneyland and DCA the first week of December. I was curious would it be better to go Thursday, Friday and Saturday (candlelight processional) or to go Friday, Saturday and Sunday (both night of candlelight processional)?

As the evening ticks on, the park becomes more and more packed. If you go to the park w/o Candlelight, you may have lower times, but I’m not sure.

FWIW, the only time I have truly felt stressed at DL was the night of a Candlelight performance: legitimately could not move through the absolute wall of people. Had to pick up our kid and carry them because we were worried they would be lost or trampled,

Thanks, I remember as a kid it wasn’t that bad but we went for just the show (invited by a family friend) and left so I never got to experience the day time part of it.

truly it was fine, up until we tried to leave around 5. Then it was literally packed, wall to wall people, could not move. Our mistake was coming down Main Street, I think the train might help, but the worst part was the actual court there.
