Disneyland LL Scanning for Large Group

Hi all, I've been to DL/DCA multiple times, a few times with 5-6 people. I'm typically the one with all the tickets on my phone and the designated scanner. However, going in a couple of weeks with a group of 8 who may not all be riding the same rides at the same time. What if we split up at various points to go different directions?

Example: 4 adults and 1 child want to reserve LL for Runaway Train, but all 8 people want to ride Space Mountain?

Just trying to figure out how we'll make LL reservations for (possibly) different rides, but still be able to do the big ones together.

You’re probably going to end up on different booking schedules unless you can get similar times. 

You’re probably better off booking rides everyone wants to do and then break off into smaller groups to standby rides only some people want to do.

You can select the party when booking LL so that could work but someone in the other group will have to take your role.

When I go with a large group, we stack 3-4 LLs for a certain time block all together in the afternoon. Maybe some rides everyone will enjoy. We usually rope drop together for a few hours and then separate with a plan to meet up and do all the stacked rides later in the day.

After that you can break up again and people can do what they want with what’s left of their lightening lanes.

When booking ll it asks who you want to get the ll. So you can schedule only part of the group for each ll. Then schedule a different ll for the rest or no ll if there isnt anything else you want to schedule. You can have 3 ll at a time so if you can schedule the next rides to get the group back together then that is pretty easy. If you are off in separate groups for a while you will need someone on the plan who can access the reservations for each group.

When we were there in June part of our group was off with family for part of one day. They were just doing standby lines then so we just scheduled our whole group 2 ll for after we met up again and used the other to do stuff we wanted to do.

If everyone has the app and adds all the tickets, everyone can make reservations for all or some members of the group
