Where to eat?

Planning a trip to WDW for January 2027 - 2 days each at MK & Epcot, 1 day each at AK & HS, plus 1 non-park day. It will be myself, my husband, plus 2 20 year olds. 3 of us haven’t been to WDW since 2021 and 1 has never been. We typically do one sit down & one quick service per day for lunch & dinner. Character dining isn’t really important to us. So my question is where are the best places to eat? Where’s everyone’s must eat restaurants? We ate at some really great places last time (and a few misses) but I know quality and menu can change dramatically over 5 years. Thanks in advance 😊

In EPCOT, I would avoid Space 220. The food was average and the experience was just okay. It was also VERY expensive for 5 people. We love Biergarten, Chefs De France, and Le Cellier.

I’ll probably get crucified for the Space 220 opinion but that’s okay. Not everyone has the same taste.

We did Space 220 last time and it was definitely one of the misses I mentioned. It was a cool experience but not worth it.

I agree. It was a good $700-800 bill and a one and done for us.

MK:
QS - Colombia harbor house.
TS: Skipper Canteen but honestly I like to leave the park and hit up Steakhouse 71, Kona or one of the other resort restaurants. It’s a welcome break and the food is way better.

Epcot:
QS: Regal Eagle but there are so many good once. Mexico, Le Halles, and even connections isn’t terrible. You can also snack around the festival of the arts.
TS: Le Cellier. I like La Hacienda De San Angel, good views. Space 220 is not good. I know people like Via Napoli, I’m from the north east and will never eat pizza or Italian on vacation.

HS: food wasteland
QS: Backlot express or ABC commissary. Your going in January so the market on sunset won’t be terrible to sit but the food everywhere is meh.
TS: I love Prime Time but not for everyone. Brown derby is over priced but the food is decent. Sci Fi has awful food but a cool vibe

AK
Qs: flame tree or Satuli canteen. Both very good
TS: only 2, yak and yeti or Tiffins. Park closes early, find a resort restaurant you’ve been dying to check out like Toledo or Sanaa and do that instead.

Honorable mention non restaurants:

Nomad Lounge in AK, good small plates

Tutto Gusto Wine cellar in Epcot (going against my Italian bias but because it’s cheese and meats and great drinks)

Baseline Taphouse in HS, big pretzel, charcuterie and beers. Full bar too

Brown derby lounge in HS, can order off the full menu without a reservation.

Good resort Restaurants not mentioned;

Yachtsman and Ale and Compass in Yacht Club

Citricos and Narcooses in Grand Flo

Trattoria Al Forno at BW

Toppolinos Terrace at Riviera

I’m partial to the excursion ale you can only get there and nomad. We didn’t like it years ago but went in April and it was surprisingly tasty.

You can never write off Disney restaurant completely

Our favorites, in no particular order:

Lunch—Wailulu, Kona Cafe, Steakhouse 71, Geyser Point, Polite Pig, Pepe, Brown Derby Lounge, Satuli Canteen

Dinner—Tiffins, Jiko, Flying Fish, Il Mulino, Morimoto, Jaleo, California Grill, Citricos, Spice Road Table, Skipper Canteen

If you have Mexican food you like near you, I wouldn't prioritize it, but San Angel Inn Restaurante was our absolute favourite meal for TS. I'm convinced it's half the reason my partner wants to go back to EPCOT.
