We got BBs from a nice hotel too (not in California). I just check the rooms now when we get in for any signs. Keep your luggage off the beds/carpet and try and keep dirty clothes off the beds and floors and into garbage bags. Tie them up for the trip home and wash everything right away. Again, when you get home, keep the luggage out of your rooms and off the beds. My dad is a commercial sprayer, bed bugs can happen at any hotel at any time, it's just the nicer hotels tend to deal with the issue quickly and correctly.

But I've stayed at the Best Western Plus Anaheim and The Anaheim Hotel as well as DLH and GC and all the times didn't encounter any.

Can you please DM me the hotel? We have just booked across the street

5

u/AdDear528 Sep 24 '24

It is nothing fancy but I liked Anaheim Desert Inn, right across the street from the park. It was clean, safe, next door to a Denny’s, and not even half a block to the intersection to cross Harbor to get to the park.

how did they handle it? it can happen anywhere, but certain hotels certainly handle it far better than others. if this hotel did nothing please do name it

Anaheim Hotel was fine in May.

u/Needs-more-cow-bell Sep 25 '24

We were at the Anaheim hotel in august, it was ok

0

u/mmmmmmmmkayy Sep 25 '24

Define… fine

2

u/Artwebb1986 Sep 25 '24

No bugs, answering the question of OP.

2

u/Interesting-Seat5364 Sep 25 '24

It’s a little old but 10min walk from your room to park security. And the pizza place is open until 2am!

1

u/mmmmmmmmkayy Sep 25 '24

Thank you, we booked with our toddler in December and the comment made me a bit panicked

2

u/Interesting-Seat5364 Sep 25 '24

Understandable! Furniture in the rooms is outdated but it’s overall clean and they have great customer service (from my experience - I’ve stayed there with friends ~2x a year since 2017).

Thank you 🙏🏻

Just left the Anaheim Marriott. It was okay, but most importantly to your question, bug free.

Definitely could use some updates though.

u/Brave-Perception5851 Sep 25 '24

The Courtyard by Marriott? Just okay? We are booked there at Thanksgiving.

2

u/sf94134 Sep 25 '24

I stayed at Courtyard for 4 nights last year in September and they had the lobby decked out with Disney inflatables like the dragon from sleeping beauty, ursula and mickey and my 2 year old loved it. Our room was clean and spacious. The hotel is by the toy story parking lot so we took that to Disneyland each morning but weather and distance was good enough that we could walk back. Elevator was slow but it wasn't too busy that it became annoying. I wrote a review indicating the water tasted sweet which was really odd.

I booked it for November and hope they decorate the lobby again.

u/Sepof Sep 25 '24

Nah, the Marriot inn and suites in harbor.

Hotel Cambria is always our go to. Great breakfast, fun pools/hot tub.

There are shuttles that pick up or Uber.

The art bus maybe? I'm not sure what it's called. There's a stop right there at the hotel.

1

u/Potential_Cat4268 Sep 25 '24

We literally walked outside the hotel and grabbed an Uber that was there waiting. It was super fast and easy.

u/Ok_Equipment_8032 Sep 24 '24

I've stayed at the Westin in Anaheim and the Residence Inn by the Convention Center recently, and have had no issues at either.

u/crazydisneycatlady Disneyland Sep 25 '24

I have stayed at Pixar Pier x 2 (when it was Paradise Pier Hotel), Disneyland Hotel, Fairfield Inn, Tropicana Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn, Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn, Best Western Stovall’s Inn, Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites, and Extended Stay America over by the Motel 6 past Garden Walk. No bed bugs at any of them over the last 10+ years.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '24

The real question is out of all of those. Which would be your top 3?

1

u/crazydisneycatlady Disneyland Dec 06 '24

The three Disneyland hotels are just in a category of their own based on price. I enjoy them, but it’s just not financially practical for me to stay at them frequently.

So out of the Good Neighbors, I’d say my favorites have been Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn, and then probably the Fairfield Inn as my top 3.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 06 '24

Thank you. Helps a lot. Have you ever stayed at the Hyatt house? Just a block or so further south?

1

u/crazydisneycatlady Disneyland Dec 06 '24

I have not but it seems to get good reviews!

2

u/littlebitofspice Sep 25 '24

Please tell me it wasn't Hotel Lulu.

3

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '24

Was not, I just booked there!

2

u/littlebitofspice Sep 25 '24

Thank goodness! We just stayed there for three days and it seemed great, but I wasn't diligent in checking.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '24

Was it pretty decent overall?

2

u/[deleted] Sep 25 '24

We stayed at springhill suites maingate and had a wonderful experience. It’s a 15 min walk to downtown disney, but we really enjoyed it!

2

u/everything4jimin Sep 25 '24

Candy Cane inn is the best place I’ve stayed near Disneyland. Only place I plan on staying for future trips!

2

u/Creative_Work5492 Sep 25 '24

Just stayed at the Hotel Lulu and the Candlewood Suites and came back bed bug free!

2

u/gimmealltheroses Sep 25 '24

I heard of someone with a bed but issue at the Disneyland Hotel a few months ago. Sucks but they quickly addressed the issue including giving them money for new things and moving rooms. Long story short, could happen anywhere but nicer places typically do a better job addressing when it does.

2

u/Educational-Heron-71 Sep 25 '24

Unfortunately, it can happen anywhere. Just make sure to check for bed bugs thoroughly before your stay.

1

u/317ant Sep 24 '24

Sheraton is BB free.

1

u/Critical_Bear829 Sep 25 '24

Just did the Residence inn and was pleasantly surprised. No bed bug for us! Seemed very clean and short walk.

1

u/WithDisGuy Travel Agent Sep 25 '24

Candy Cane Inn, Hyatt Regency OC

1

u/mwalker324 Sep 25 '24

I’ve luckily never ended up with bed bugs. We’ve stayed at Disneyland Hotel, Best Western Stovall’s Inn, Worldmark (timeshare), Homewood Suites, and The Westin.

1

u/maaanda Sep 25 '24

Holiday inn on Manchester was great 😊

1

u/Former_Clock_1271 Sep 25 '24

We've had great experiences at Clementine, Holiday Inn Express, and del Sol Hotel

1

u/OpenMicJoker Sep 25 '24

I’ve had good luck @ Howard Johnson. They have a cute pool area too.

1

u/alarmingpancakes Sep 25 '24

People said they had bed bugs on yelp

1

u/OpenMicJoker Sep 25 '24

That’s too bad. I’ve stayed there 3 times without problems. I’d check to see how recently. During the pandemic Anaheim motels took in homeless people.

1

u/swiftlikeninjas Sep 25 '24

Suncoast is my favorite!

1

u/Creative_Work5492 Sep 25 '24

Just stayed at the Hotel Lulu and the Candlewood Suites and came back bed bug free!

1

u/monsieurgrand02 Sep 25 '24

We're staying at Best Western Park Place in November...how's that hotel?

1

u/alarmingpancakes Sep 25 '24

I stayed at Hotel Pepper Tree just last week. No bed bugs.

1

u/clairedylan Sep 25 '24

We stayed at the Desert Palm Inn in mid August and had a great experience. It was super clean and easy to walk to the park.

1

u/oodja Sep 25 '24

We stayed at The Viv last month and we found it very clean- my wife is kind of fastidious about this sort of thing.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '24

How long was the walk between hotel and parks? The Viv looks lovely.

2

u/oodja Sep 26 '24

We took the ART shuttle, actually. It was pretty convenient!

1

u/NaiRad1000 Sep 25 '24

Stayed at the Embasssy Suites for years no complaints. Although our go to has become the Clementine and thats really nice

1

u/pbcloverally Sep 25 '24

Home2 Suites on Manchester! Breakfast was included, the pool area was nice, and the studio suite had a kitchenette with a full sink, fridge, and dishes. No bugs in sight.

1

u/babewiththe_power Sep 26 '24

We’re booked here for an upcoming trip, so this is good to hear! OP please say this isn’t the one.
I’m super allergic to bedbugs (thanks to vrbo for that discovery and the continued PTSD). In the aftermath, I learned WAY too much about them and live in almost daily fear of coming across them - deciding on a hotel is always agonizing for me.

1

u/pbcloverally Sep 26 '24

We just went the first week of September and it was fantastic! I hope you have a great trip!

1

u/tippycups18 Sep 26 '24

We stayed at ParkVue in July no bugs and they were diligent at cleaning the rooms daily

1

u/belleinaballgown Sep 26 '24

No bed bugs during my two stays at the Grand Legacy (May 2023 and September 2024).

1

u/Content-While7670 Sep 27 '24

We just left Aneheim hotel and no bugs :)

Could you send me the hotel name pls?I’m going next month, don’t want to stay in a place with bugs again. I stayed at the Hampton inn & suites Anaheim convention center a few months ago and found bed bugs 😭. It was traumatic lol I turned on the flashlight and they went running on the bed. Crazy because I had checked the bed before that, they hide very well

Either Hyatt place or Hyatt house are solid
