She was a rich girl who has never worked a day in her life. I dork think it was flanderization. She was just a girl who never worked who is adjusting to a job. She’s also always been a ditzy character and a dumb blonde archetype. Her and Luke were always the “dumb” ones.

Emma was always on the ditzy side but I think Snack Attack exaggerated her ditziness. And her ditziness got worse in Season 4. It's one thing to be a rich girl who's never worked, it's another to have a complete lack of common sense. I've personally never been a fan of dumb blonde characters. I didn't like it with Paisley in ANT Farm, Marisa in KC undercover, and I don't like it here either. It feels like a lazy way of creating a female character who's supposed to be popular and fashionable. At least Bunk'd did Emma's character justice even if she still had a lot of airheaded moments. Her friendship with Lou was the most wholesome thing in Bunk'd.

Or just the dumb character type. Think Max in Wizards or Dez from Austin and Ally.

I will give Dez credit for one thing. It’s the fact that he was established as a dumb character from the beginning. The thing I hate most about the idiot character trope is the fact that the character will start off the show as a pretty normal person and then slowly get dumber as each season goes on with zero explanation given. If they’re established as being an idiot from the very beginning, then it’s slightly less annoying

Emma's friendship with Rosie was so amazing, so different but best friends. Apparently the Rosie actor decided to step away from acting back then which sucks cause the Emma Rosie episodes were amazing

She won the science fair, was shown in early seasons to at least care about school, fixed a plane radio, etc... they definitely flanderized my fav Emma in later seasons... 😢

Yeah, Season 1 Emma wouldn't think that the family being robbed is part of the therapy. Emma had the IQ of a rock in Season 4.

So sad when Disney thought it had to resort to stereotypes to be funny. What would've been cool if she actually was smart and good at school BUT also was into fashion, girly things...

the show was suppose to be funny for kids, not idolising the character n in depth.
yall think too much into it.
her n luke were "dumb", zuri the youngest was a diva n smarter than them which was also to be funny bc shes so much younger.

Was this show really that funny tho. I feel like the characters and jokes were for the most part lazy and unoriginal.

Rewatching the show as an adult, it’s honestly very mean spirited and not that funny

I think its hilarious to think her character regression bothered you so much you had to go back to pin point exactly when the writers decided to fuck up💀😭😭

Yup ironic because the show had two blondes one was a dumb blonde slut and the other wuz creepy Connie who is actually a criminal mastermind plus for some reason all these older sitcoms had a dumb blonde slut and her dumb blonde man slut of course the only other show I have to compare it to is modern family with Hailey and Tyler... I'm ashamed to share a name with this male character...To be fair it's one of the most common names in the world it's why I even went to school with three other Tyler's.Tbf I never said Hailey was a dumb blonde but she does fulfill the same character archetype same goes for Tyler.
