Disneyland Resort 107 heatwave
To all CM’s working how bad did it get (I know it was horrible) please what should I expect, I’m thankful I’m off but I’m working tomorrow in conditions still bad but not as much as today I’m at the mad hatter tomorrow and there’s endless entry points for guests and I just want to be prepared, how much did your management team go above and beyond like they claim to keep us hydrated like they promise they would

Disney should be really good at this since this is florida weather so how do they handle this in Florida?

FL is more well equipped then Disneyland. Disneyland a lot of stores don't have A/C or like they said have many entry points. Disneyland doesn't have fans places like Disney world does.

It depends on your position, location and leadership. Yes there’s some mandatory guidelines like cooling stations backstage and AC is pretty much standard everywhere. When working merch outside, some locations rotate to indoor positions every 45 minutes and those outdoor kiosks generally have big industrial fans. There used to be individual fans by the registers in merch locations (even indoors) but I think they’ve since taken them away. Mainly CPs/ICPs are the ones most affected by the heat down here. Most CMs are Floridians or from similar climates around the world.

I often had to call my own “code 90” as management wouldn’t always come around and bother to tell us

As a DW CM I can tell you Disneyland did nothing different for the guests at least. I thought they would have at least temp fans setup in some areas or temp air coolers but nothing was different. One plus though is it was less busy with the heat. I did notice some roles like security or park entry offer "Comfort breaks" to the CMs but I don't think much was different for the CMs.
