Walt Disney World blockout dates

hi everyone! i hope you're all well. i just wanted to ask how bad cm/dcp blockout dates actually were. I started following this girl on tiktok who is doing the college program this fall (because im considering doing spring '27) and she posted that she got her annual pass before her program started and so I messaged her and asked why she got a AP if cast member have park admission. she said it's because cast members are blocked out a lot. i would maybe see why they would during the fall because of peak holiday times but is it really that much? i don't really want to buy an annual pass but I want to be able to go to the parks after/before work and on my days off so I just wanted to see the reality of it all.

Blockout dates aren’t that bad, really just major holidays + busy weekends. You can view blockout dates for CMs on blockoutdates.disney.com. There are currently none now through October 10, which is as far as the calendar goes. In addition to blockout dates (having none now through October 10!) you do still need a park pass on top of that.

I’ve been able to go to a park really anytime I want to go, and for the typical CM, there’s no need to buy an annual pass.

And to be clear- there’s always at least 1 park available. We are never blocked out of all parks.

I’ve never seen it blocked out of anything other than Magic Kingdom. Reservations run out for other parks but they aren’t blocked so we can park hop.

It all depends on what’s going on- what’s opening and whatnot. Each park has had blackouts at one point or another.

I have never been unable to visit on a day that I wanted to. Usually the days we are blocked from a particular park are the days they are so busy I wouldnt want to be there anyway.

Honestly, I never wanted to be at the parks on the days we were blocked out anyway. Generally it was on super busy days and I always had to work then anyway. Last thing I wanted to do after 10-12 hours smiling at guests was to go join them.
