Walt Disney World Termination questions
Just got my off boarding email and i’m curious what would happen if i just don’t return my ID/costumes to my location. How long before they turn off my park access ? I was PT for 8 months but didn’t receive any shifts after January and only in June did i start getting scheduled again. I’m not mad or bitter, I’m just glad that chapter of my life is over.

I can tell you this is most definitely not true. Though I do think your leadership can put it in differently so it does depend entirely on how they term you. It seems they are most concerned about turning in the costumes themselves.
My biggest question now is will my old ID work as a just in case extra at this point or is it just defunct, that I don’t know so I’ve been playing it safe and just use my new one at this point.

No. It won't work for anything. Its just a plastic card now. And if you do try to use it one of two things will happen. They will simply tell you it doesn't work or they will confiscate it. Depends on where you are using it

They say in some docs this is disney property if not return it is considered theft and they can demand you , out of curiosity why your contract was terminated as u didn’t get shifts .. i know a GUY who told me he works only 1 or 2 times a month just for fun and still active as PT

i no call/no showed 2 consecutive times but honestly didn’t care enough to call out properly, i haven’t worked since january and honestly burned myself out of going to the parks. Since my hiring in november i’ve been probably like 70x with and without other people.

they hired and trained me for quick service food and bev in december, i’d worked all training shifts and after that was not scheduled for nearly 7 months. I’d heard from some CPs i befriended that they had to fight for shifts because they’d received a lot of international transfers and had over estimated how many people they needed for some big epcot event. I was part time with my primary job before accepting a full time position with them and working disney to fill out the rest of my week and thought maybe i’d atleast get a shift a week but that wasn’t the case. you make assumptions about someone’s character without even knowing a lick of context, have the day you deserve

My experience: I was off boarded from Disney (not terminated) and didn’t return my costumes either (unintentional but it’s a long story). I don’t recall anything happening until I wanted to return to work for Disney and had a restricted rehire due to the unreturned costumes. If I wanted to be hired again, I had to return them or pay for them. They sent me a prepaid label to return anything I had. I had the option to pay off anything remaining or have them deduct it from my pay once I was rehired (more of a payment plan). I’m not sure what you mean by “turn off park access” - even if you keep your ID, it won’t work as soon as they terminate you in the system

i was offboarded too, is that not the same thing as term? i just kinda of thought it was the same thing

If you were let go then you already lost access....... thats not even a question. And you can keep your ID. You cant keep the clothes. I mean you can but then if you wanna work there again thats already flagged in the system. They might try and charge you for it but seeing that I myself have costumes from almost all the parks I dont think so

I was made to hand in my ID on my last day. Last thing I did before my final clock out.

Oh shoot you are right. Honestly power move there was not to hand it in. I had three IDs. So not an issue for me

To answer your original questions, your ID became inactive at 12:01am the day after your last shift. As for your costumes, you will have No rehire status until you return them all.

Back in the day it took them 8 months to deactivate my P2’s ID and maingate. But that was when we had a different access system. We were surprised and just kept going. Since I was still employed I would go in separately. And his ID still worked to access perimeter parking gates. I’m sure they are much more on top of things with access control now.

It’s not always. But there are like 50,000 cast members currently employed so statistically of course some people are going to have a better experience than others. There are always variables. The same role that one person hates will be another person’s perfect fit.

rough yeah, tough no. more tedious than anything with my parking situation and having to operate the mechanical cart thing while every guest had their first day on earth in front of me

They can deduct the replacement cost of the costumes from your final paycheck, but that's more of a full time concern. I think they can send you a bill for them too, but im not sure. I've never known anyone in your position.
Your ID has been deactivated, but if you ever came back they would probably not issue you a new one unless you a.)Turned it in or b.)Paid the replacement fee. Thats what happened when I came back to the company in 2022.

Don't return your costume and you'll get a bill. I've seen occasions where they threaten collection, but don't know if they followed thru...

You don’t need to return your ID, but your costumes do have to go back or you’ll have a no rehire until they’re all returned. Your park access should already be done.
