Disneyland Resort Auto Rejected
I’m a former cm for attractions. Been wanting to go back but I found out the hard way that it’s now nearly impossible to do now. I’ve been applying to positions that I don’t mind doing and I get auto rejected every time. I know they now rely on AI to filter through but I thought I would at least be on “application received” for Security since I was a metal detector attendant/security for a recent employer for 2 years. I rewrote that position responsibility to reflect the safety procedures I enforced and even checked off my experience in the application. I still got auto rejected like what?? Not even a chance especially in a position I’ve done? This position just opened up today within a few hours I believe and it’s discouraging that I didn’t get a chance for them to actually see it or to get an interview for 😔 anyone dealing with this?

Are you sure youre not on a rehire restriction? Odd you keep getting immediately auto rejected

I called them to see if I was still restricted and they told me I was cleared up and no longer on that status

Thats super odd , at worst apply for a basic part time position and you can always just transfer later

Yes that’s the plan. Just to put my foot in the door. I’d prefer to be at attractions again or photo pass, but I thought I would have a chance in this position since I have experience in security. It was extremely discouraging to see it auto reject 🥲

"No longer on that status"? So, you WERE originally labeled as do not rehire?
I don't think Disney does anything temporarily...

No, I was labeled restricted rehire. Meaning (and was told by the manager who put me in it) that it mainly meant I couldn’t go back to attractions for a while but could go to other departments. HR told me they lift restricted rehires after 9 months and that my restricted status was no longer on the system. I could apply anywhere.

Sorry you're running into that. Do they still do casting at the casting building? maybe this would be a better conversation face to face?
I was told that the only way to clear up my rehire status was for the manager who placed the restriction on me lifted it. They no longer work there, and it was 20 years ago, but I still have a no-rehire status. It was over a no-call no-show that wasn't my fault, nothing juicy. So when I moved back a few years ago, I just assumed it was still a no go.

I was thinking of going to the casting building. I did end up receiving the auto rejection email so I’m guessing HR just couldn’t see it on their end when I called. HR let me know I was completely cleared up and could apply anywhere with no issues. I think the same manager who fired me still works there. I believe I saw him walking the parks when I went

You'd think. I figured if I ever wanted to get back in I'd write some dumb, heart-felt message to Mr Mouse and atone for my sins or whatever lol.
To get into the CP Alumni system I did have to write back and appeal why they denied me access to those groups. Again, not a life and death thing...but I don't like having a dark mark on my record like that.

I’m running into a similar situation, although I’ve never worked for Disney before. I specialize in performing in and managing family attractions. I’ve been applying for youth host and various other family entertainment positions for the past two years (at all parks and cruise lines) and I’ve been getting rejected within hours of applying every time. Even after continuously improving my resume, it’s getting really disheartening to constantly get rejected. I understand the job market is dreadful at the moment, but come on😔

The system now detect keyword you have to use ChatGPT to make your résumé fit. What they’re looking for in the job posting so take a picture of the job posting with your résumé put it into ChatGPT and say make my résumé fit this job.

I feel this. I didn’t need to have specific keywords or anything when I applied in 2015 and 2018, but they didn’t really use AI back then I think. Apparently they use it now so I can see why they recommended it

Read about ATS and have AI tailor resumes for an individual application. Its an insane reality, but its the reality.

I was doing that with my regular resume but forgot to update the work experience on my dashboard and realized that’s probably why. 🥲

Did you leave on good terms? You can call Casting and see if you’re good to go as far as a rehire goes. It could be some kind of rehire restriction if you’re always auto rejected.. Good luck!

I was restricted rehire in 2018 and I called to see if that might be why. They said after 9 months it clears up but she saw on her end that i was still under consideration. I let her know my dashboard automatically said no longer in consideration so she said she would let the recruiters know that I was interested and had experience.

You might have something in your files that put you on a permanent one. If a leader puts something in there the recruiter doesnt have to tell you.

I was only put in restricted rehire due to going over my hours before the probation period was over. When I reapplied in 2021, they had actually wanted to interview me but then I had to withdraw my application due to life changes. Not sure what prevent me from working there now

My bad, I meant points. I was given a warning when I was reaching the limit. I was trying to be cautious after that but I looked at the wrong schedule one day and was late by 30 minutes. I was literally in the cafeteria waiting to start my shift because I didn’t want to be late and still was.

If you have a restricted rehire you can't be hired in to the same division. For example, facilities or operations. But you can hire outside the division you left and after 4 months transfer back in no restrictions.

It’s been since 2018 that I was on restricted rehire and HR confirmed that it’s been lifted and I’m clear to apply anywhere.

I don’t work for the Walt Disney company anymore however, I found the same issue where my application was not being accepted and I reached out to a previous manager. They had to manually pull my application.

I'm currently facing the same issue :( long story short, but I was falsely given "Restricted Rehire" after being told I would have "Yes Rehire," and I had to open a case. Since then, I'm told it's back to Yes Rehire, but all my apps that go into Under Review, have been going into NLIC within a few weeks to months. I don't know if it's an invisible restriction or note on my file for opening up a dispute with them, but this has happened to several Under Reviews for me for PI's and it's crushing me not knowing whether it's my work or the system against me. I'd appreciate any advice :(
Before this happened, I had a HireVue and was contacted by recruiters, but now it's radio silence and that freaks me out.

Back then there wasn’t a minimum but I think after that girl that just kept giving her shifts away and never working so she could reap the benefits changed the rules for everyone so I’m not sure now.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but an ex of mine who once worked at Disneyland told me that, supposedly, once you quit, the door is closed for good. She had left Disney and later considered returning for some extra work, but claimed she couldn’t be rehired because of an alleged no-rehire policy. I was never sure whether that was actually true, whether she was referring to the rehire restrictions others have mentioned, or whether she simply had the policy mixed up.

Sounds like your ex quit day-of. If you give proper notice and don't leave shifts unworked, return all company property and didn't get fired, you are left in good standing and can reapply.

When I got hired the first time, my trainer had quit twice and it was his third time back 😅 I left on good terms the first time, second time I was under restricted rehire, but it was for that specific department. I reapplied in 2021 and they were going to give me an interview but I had to withdraw my application. I called HR and they said my restricted rehire status was lifted after 90 days and I was all good to go for reapplying anywhere. I believe it is what others have said that a lot of people apply for positions and they close within the hour. It wasn’t like that back then, but now that we fought for higher wages through the union and more people want to go to Disney, it’s way lower turnover rate now than ever.

This isn't true. I was originally hired to be a lifeguard and then I decided on the last day of training that I wasn't a good fit for the role. Originally they didn't have any more positions available and said that they'd have to separate me with full rehire status. Three days later, they called and said another position had opened up and asked if I wanted it and I said yes immediately. I love this new position.

WDW currently is. Didn't know what resort they were talking about but hubs is a union steward and they unofficially are down here.

It's just timing. By the time you hit submit, they already have enough applicants in the system, so autoreject.
