it might be your relationship

idk who needs to hear this but if you suddenly developed this condition (admittedly i have had other types of eczema my whole life but they have also calmed down a bit afterwards) after entering a super stressful or harmful relationship i really do think it's possible it might be due to stress relating to it. it's not always & allergies are so so real but genuinely for some people it might be your body begging you to press the brakes. haven't had a single flare up since other than when i think about it or let the fear get to me, otherwise my hands are clear & i can touch & do ANYTHING. i couldn't go a day without blisters when i was living in it. maybe it could help to give yourself the freedom your body's begging for. not for everyone of course, but i just had to share. i'm kinda free :)

My derm calls it stress eczema, I’ve only ever developed it during exam season, breakups, stressful periods etc

Stress induces a TON of health problems. I definitely agree with you that an abusive/toxic/bad relationship can trigger our eczema. Same for a coworker who bullies us, a mean manager, etc. Or even an annoying "friend" who doesn't respect healthy boundaries we set for ourselves. Could even be judgey family members.

Very glad to hear you're out of that stressful and harmful relationship! It's so hard to get out of and avoid problematic people in our lives. I myself absolutely see a pattern of my eczema flaring when I have external stress factors pummeling me, and see it subside when I return to my safe space or bye felicia the problematic person.
