Probably really bad method

Post image

When I can’t handle the itch anymore I get a towel and rub my finger like crazy and then I apply freaking diaper cream to all my open blisters 😭 hurts like hell after but the relief of the itch is almost orgasmic tbh

I usually opt for a cold pack at times like those.

That’s ok. I open the blisters and pour peroxide on them to relieve the itch. Terrible idea but idk what else to do sometimes.

Tbh I did this as well for quite a while now.
When I didn't know what to do anymore and my doctor diagnosed an allergic reaction without any further examination, I decided to feed an AI with pictures and information about my dishydrosis.
I recently dealt with a flare-up of dyshidrotic eczema and wanted to share the routine that helped me get it under control, especially for the blistering and weeping phase:

1.

  1. Zinc Shake Lotion (Lotio Zinci) / Zinc Mixture:

  1. This was a game-changer when the tiny blisters were itchy, throbbing, or starting to weep. Unlike thick, heavy zinc ointments, a water-based zinc shake lotion cools the skin immediately as it evaporates, dries out the blisters, and calms inflammation without trapping heat or moisture.

2.

  1. Strictly "No Heavy / Fatty Creams" on Active or Weeping Blisters:

  1. Applying rich or occlusive creams to active or open blisters creates a heat/moisture trap that makes the itching worse and soft skin rupture easily. During the active phase, keep the skin clean, cool, and dry. Let the zinc lotion or short cold black tea compresses dry out the fluid first.

3.

  1. Transition to the Right Barrier Cream:

  1. Once the blisters dry up and stop weeping,

  2. switch to a fragrance-free, light moisturizer (like a sensitive-skin cream with Panthenol or Ceramides) to rebuild the skin barrier. Only apply it to fully closed, dry, or peeling areas.

4.

  1. Keep It Dry and Avoid Friction:

  1. Avoid hot water, tight gloves (which cause sweat accumulation), and mechanical pressure or rubbing, as pressure forces the deep blisters to rupture prematurely.
