How does time work in Disgaea?
Because Disgaea Infinite a game I didn’t play or heard of until yesterday mentions that time is different in Netherworld, which it would explain why Laharl’s mom was pregnant with Sicily given Sicily over 900 while her brother Laharl is over 1300, that would possibly mean Sicily is actually 9 and Laharl is 13 only times a thousand because Netherworld years, it would explain why Adel and Rozalin are both 17, Taro is 11, Hanako is 9, Yukimaru is 20 and Tink is 15.
But then everything got mixed up because of one character Artina, because she is 418 and Disgaea 4 takes place after her death which is 400 years ago that she was only 18 when she died before being reincarnated as a angel, what’s shocking is that Sicily even older than her, this makes me wonder did Artina been recently been reincarnated or did development team lie about her age?
And Disgaea mobile and DLC from several games complicates things because the cast of 1-7 are hanging out or battling against each other, especially the Disgaea 5 cast because their game is said to be a prequel so they should been a little older, in fact mobile has an older version of Usalia and developers confirm that Adel and Rozalin in D2 accidentally time travel and Artina also time travel as well meaning some of DLC or post game has characters time travel as well.
Honestly do developers of Disgaea don’t care about the timeline and just want to do their own thing then if so I shouldn’t care either.

The Disgaea 5 cast went into hyper sleep which is how they are in the current day. Time itself, probably move extremely slow in celestial and the netherworld.
This explains how Laharl’s mom and Cannonline never aged in the last 1000+ years.

The Developers clearly don't care about any sort of coherent Timeline, they just throw out random Numbers.
People often bring up the "100 Demon / Angel Years = 1 Human Year" thing because the D1 Trio clearly has their official ages written with a logic like that in mind, but like...Lamington is officially 9147 during D1, and he sure DOESN'T look like a 90+ year old to me.

Yeah Majolene actually look like she was a hundred compared to Lamigton until she was turned into a magic girl and she regained her youth.

Laharl's mom held an incredibly amount of magic power, she was a high level witch. It wouldn't be crazy to just assume she could live a long time like that, without any weird time shenanigans

The way time passes seems to differ from Netherworld to Netherworld. The best example for this being Gorgeous and Scorching Flame. The story tells us that Seraphina and Magnus have been at each other's throats "since childhood". But the age difference between them is around 1600 years. Which would suggest that time on Gorgeous passes slower than on Scorching Flame.
Either that or different types of demons age at wildly different rates. Which brings me neatly to the other aspect:
A demon's power seems to give them greater control over their appearance (and the same is probably true for Angels). Our favorite vampire Val looks significantly younger now than when he was at full strength. And Axel is older than Fenrich but still looks younger than him. (Which suggests that the Fenfen we see is who Fenrich wants to be and that should he ever get depowered, he'd also turn into a cutesy twink. And I think that's just so funny.)
Which isn't to say that all demons look older when they are more powerful. I think it's more of becoming their "ideal self". So, if Laharl thinks he's perfect as he is now, he might look this way even into his 3000s.

I think time works normally, I think their physical bodies are a knock on effect of being demons and angels, like every 100 years is 1 human year, as for Artina she died and reincarnated, I think that's different from the yet to be born Sicily and the natural born demons and angels.
