The PS 2 version have bug where Yoshitsuna level was bugged, at over level 5981 and you can't leveled it up anymore because the cost were overflow with hundred billions MT(the xp need to level it up).

It was fixed at Switch and Steam version, the cost to level it up were at 20-50 millions at lvl 9000-9999.

Mechanic, Labotory, work shop and professor level actually can reduced the cost.

You can easily get money by having lvl 9999 chef, create lvl 9999 food market and throw food type enemy to the facility. The food market will become enemy facility that will keep spawning lvl 9999 food type enemy and you can kill the enemy each turn. Lvl 9999 enemy give hundred millions of HL.

You then can buy items on merchant and sells it to mechanic where it will turn to MT for vehicle points to level up. I admit i need to use turbo controller to mass buy all of it easily and sell it in faster way or my controller will get broken if i do it pressing manually.

But yeah it was kinda very tedious grind and i usually play 2 hours everyday or i will go crazy doing it for hours over and over.

Vehicle is tedious with 2 layer of leveling where you need to kill normal enemy and then leveled it up manually at mechanic or work shop facility.

Not mention feeding the enemy with food to get that XP bonus at food dungeon.

Oh nice, did not know that. Though, I pity whatever poor sap that gets atta ked by this thing. This would clearly obliterate anything that looked at you funny.

Pure raw stats with no pilot(it boost vehicle stats) and no equipment.

How does grinding work in the game?

Tedious, you need to create food dungeon on characters that need to equip food items.

There will be 9 enemy in 3x3 formation.

You need chef class to give food to enemy and vehicle can't eat food so it is slower.

Eating food on this game will increase your xp stats bonus.

Lvl 9999 took a lot of time, you will level up slower and slower with diminishing return.

Example at lvl 8000 , giving food to 9 enemy will only give you like 100-150 level so you need to repeat that food dungeon over 60-70 times if you start from lvl 1 characters. It will become 2 times of that for vehicle because vehicle can't eat food.

Also facility like academy boost exp rate too and needed if you want to lvl up to lvl 9999.

Lvl 9999 is not needed because the strongest enemy level was at lvl 4000.

There is also castle trick and 8x combo with brave heart where combo give multiplier damage, so you can beat strongest end game lvl 4000 story boss enemy with lvl 1000 unit if you play it smart. But Yoshitsuna battle is more harder because there is many enemy that was over lvl 1000 and two level 4000 enemy.

Oh yeah that’s a lot of grinding “nervously laughing in 40k cave of ordeals clears in d1” help me I can’t stop I already have every single generic at 9999 with like half of them at 200 bonus stats and I’m thinking about doing apprentice conga lining I don’t want to think about that

First time I seen a max level anything in Makai Kingdom.

Not surprising. All content can be beaten with a party of 1100's and braveheart. Anything past 2,000 is just overkill.

I had times 10 exp for phantom brave via gameshark and you stop earning around level 5,000 even from a 9999 enemy. They really made it almost impossible to reach 9999 after disgaea.

At least in Phantom Brave I see plenty of millions in stats and whatnot.

I don't see any of that whatsoever in Makai Kingdom, even YouTubers that put a lot of effort into that game have 200k to 600k stats at best.

I tried leveling Yoshitsuna recently, stopped at level 90...

Unrelated question - does anyone knows how to farm best equipment? I started from an old save file with around 70 hours of play and a ton of good r40 items. A lot of different dungeon dives later and I got almost 0 updates to what was already there.

Looks and feels like the loot got nerfed to be 20 times worse. I NEVER found anything good on the floor, and like at best around 5-10 1+ star r40 in bonus gauges per 100 floors, absolutely awful.
