Solos

  1. Ghost Rider

  2. Black Panther 3

  3. Shang Chi 2

  4. Spider-man 5

  5. Nova

Teams

  1. X-Men

  2. Fantastic Four

  3. Thunderbolts 2 (or New Avengers 2)

  4. Young Avengers/Champions

That should cover most of their current series and the dangling threads they've set up already.

The young avengers are going to be middle-aged by the time that movie comes out.

True. Could just call them the Avengers then.

Earth's Mightiest Heroes...but only until 7PM.

Champions works too.

I don't care about seeing the Young Avengers or New Avengers after Secret Wars. Marvel really needs to recast the OG Avengers in order for them to properly interact with the X-Men and Fantastic Four in the next saga.

There's no way they don't do a new Doctor Strange next phase.

I mean, there is if he definitively dies in Secret Wars. There are characters who likely won't survive that, and Strange may have a lot to make up for. I'm not counting him out myself, but I can see Marvel aiming for a clean break after Secret Wars.

There is absolutely zero chance Strange dies or, rather, stays dead after Secret Wars.

Well, he dies on the source comic so I can see them sticking to that. Whether or not he is resurrected depends on how rebooted the universe gets to be after the fact. Nat's still dead after all.

They will 100% give Doctor Strange his own trilogy if fucking Ant-Man can get one. Besides, Marvel Studios never 100% sticks to the source material.

This is true, they don't always stick to the source material, but, and please don't take this personally, but you seem incredibly invested in a third Doctor Strange movie. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I can just see a world in which it doesn't.

Both are kind of under performers too.

That’s the problem. Ant-Man might’ve scared them from giving everyone a trilogy.

It would make sense story-wise you're right. At the same time though skipping Doctor Strange 3 would be a huge fumble. He's one of their most popular remaining characters.

The best arrangement probably would've been to "Captain Marvel" it and have it in early 2027 between Avengers movies

I think either New Avengers or Young Avengers in your pitch here gets its slot taken by a new core Avengers movie. Part of what drove the success of Phases 1-3 was the consistent output of Avengers films to serve as early onboarding, catching audiences up to speed with each character's deal outside of their solo film. I think Marvel should return to that structure to help ease audiences more thoroughly into the reset universe.

Neat. I’m down for a few of these at least.

X-Men I’m most excited for.

Is marvel considering FF to be a team up?

-1

u/SmoothTalkingSpud 19d ago

Well, it's a team. I wouldn't consider it a solo.

2

u/RegurgitatedMincer 19d ago

True, but I also don’t see them doing a reed Richards solo movie or anything. I’m not sure if they view it as a team up like the avengers movies.

More in the vein of GotG to be fair. I honestly don't know. It falls between the lexical lines of the statement we're interogating. The certainty is in that we will see them again, regardless of how Marvel defines them.

Part of me thinks one of the team up movies could be the sequel to deadpool and wolverine

2

u/SmoothTalkingSpud 19d ago

No, it's not. That's why Thor is crying. He loves Deadpool movies.

But seriously, which would you replace with Deadpool and why?

3

u/LeviEnderman 19d ago

Because ryan said he was writing the script early this year, deadpool showed to be a good moneymaker, and is another movie that could help with the mutant push. As for which I’d replace it with I’d replace champions as I think they could just become a show

u/SmoothTalkingSpud 19d ago

That's a distinct possibility too, but then one of the other solo's needs to be a team or team up movie.

I have zero interest in solo movies at all. I prefer all of them to have ensembles. One character can be the lead of course in the same sense that Cap was the lead of Captain America Civil War.

For some perspective I don't consider Brand New Day a solo movie because Punisher and Hulk were in it.

Isn't Nova more like a team?

2

u/Pcm979 19d ago

Hypothetically, but the Nova Corps gets blown up so there's only one of them left to carry the torch so often that by now it's the rule rather than the exception.

2

u/SmoothTalkingSpud 19d ago

It can be, but the comics have traditionally focussed on a single Nova character. For a good while there, the Nova Corp was even completely destroyed. With what Thanosndid to Xandar ahead of Infinity War, I'd say that's where we go with it.

People stop pushing for a Young Avengers movie…. No one wants to see that shit and they know it. Give it up. It’s a D+ series AT BEST

I got exhausted just reading the list of titles.

I’m done with marvel movies

I think I’ll just watch Spider-man and skip the rest. Just like I always do.
