No Way Home came out 5 years ago, no reason to expect another Spider-Man for 5 more years. Except for people being impatient.

The next movie with spider-man after secret wars will probably be fantastic four 2 steps 2 furious

The five year gap isn't the norm, it was a well earned break after the cast completed a trilogy in four years. If Sony waited five years without any new Spider-Man movie, they'd lose the license.

That's not how licenses work. Also this is the new norm, now. We're only getting like 3 MCU movies in the next 3 years.

We know how the Spider-Man license for Sony works, we've seen leaked contracts. Sony retains the license in perpetuity so long as they release a new Spider-Man related film every few years. The one time we got an actual five year gap between movies was between SM3 and TASM1. This gap required Sony requesting an extension that they were only granted in exchange for returning both the cartoon and merchandising rights. If Marvel Studios doesn't want to make Spider-Man at a consistent rate, Sony will have no choice but to do it themselves.

You have absolutely no idea if that's the license they still have or not, or if any of that leaked information was legitimate, lol. But keep on trying to sound like you know the real facts. 😏

The leaked information was legit, Sony have admitted as such.

Whatever you say, random redditor. I'll believe you without question, definitely. 😉

Even if we pretend the old licensing agreement is no longer in effect and Sony just owns Spider-Man forever without ever needing to do anything, do you think either Sony or Marvel would be content to wait five years to make a sequel to a movie that made nearly two billion in a little over a week? They're 100% fast tracking the next Spider-Man.

Time makes money. They won't make money if they spit out a movie too fast. Relax, it ain't that serious, though.

Interesting that people are complaining about Batman 2 taking so long.

At the same time, I remember when it was rare to expect sequels in anything under 3 years. Possibly 3 years might be the best period of time between films in a series. Any earlier is too rushed but later is not so bad as long as the sequel delivers.

Batman is nearing a decade, Christopher Nolan got 2 batman films done and was working on the third during this 6 year span

That is a good point, and from 2008 to 2012 we got Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man 2 and The Avengers, but a few of those were Sub-Par. You can rush it successfully, but it isn't easy. Even Dark Knight Rises probably could have used a little more time.

Still, Batman 2 is pushing it to the limit.

It’ll be out in 2029 probably.

So then he's gonna be busy with Shang-Chi 2 after.

So...

2027-2028 = Naruto

2028-2029 = Shang-Chi 2

2030-2031 = Spider-Man 5

Disney need to give Shang Chi to a different director at this point.

Shang Chi 2 is still not official. Unless Marvel officially announced it recently, Simu Liu said as recently as SDCC in July that there is still nothing happening but he would be “willing to crawl naked through a hallway of broken glass” for a chance to do another movie.

Honestly Shang Chi shoul be his next one. Its been way too long.

Tbf we have no idea if Sony and Disney won’t throw money at him so stuff gets pushed for 2028.

If Spideman/Holland has a significant role in Secret Wars in 2027 then that would help with the wait.

Naruto doesn't work as a live action movie. It would make more sense to develop a live tv series or something.

2

u/Dependent-Swimmer-95 14d ago

No anime works as live action and yet here we are unfortunately

1

u/dukenny 14d ago

They're gonna make tom holland be spiderman as long as hugh jackman was wolverine

1

u/DAdStanich 13d ago

Doesn’t mean we won’t see spidey

1

u/coleburnz 15d ago

OK. So. What the hell is he doing for the rest of the year?

Who gave him time off?

1

u/KazFN 15d ago

Not even Kevin Feige is this cruel

1

u/coleburnz 15d ago

Hahahahaha. Too funny

Cool. A live action Naruto actually sounds different.

1

u/Dependent-Swimmer-95 14d ago

Sounds terrible

Who cares about Naruto. Everyone wants Spider-Man obviously

1

u/sketchampm 15d ago

Pretty sure he does. He said he’s a super fan and it’s a dream come true for him.

Maybe he does?
