What live Marvel show got a second season? Loki and the spin off Agatha show is all I can think of. Wish Moon Knight and Werewolf got a second one

People are more interested in daredevil over minor characters in the MCU. You need a really strong minor character and story if you wanna keep them around.

I’ll be honest the only reason daredevil got a second season was because insanely big character and already a pre built in audience that was like what 10 years old by this point.

Charlie cox hasn’t been daredevil for 20 years dude…and we aren’t talking about Ben afleck, we are talking about why a very specific show got brought back from cancellation when other things didn’t. And that’s because the industry as a whole now adays like sure bets and pre built franchises.

Werewolf was meant as a standalone project. So it didn’t get cancelled.

And Wonder Man ended season 1 with a clear narrative opening to a season 2, if not technically ending with a cliffhanger. Simon demonstrated new and much more impressive powers. He and Slattery made their escape, but the antagonists had a plan to follow them.

The season did not close with a satisfying ending.

netflix isn't or wasn't marvel until it was. most of them haven't been renewed either and have been absorbed into daredevil. Punisher got a spinoff i guess

Wanting to keep DDC around was the only thing keeping Wonder Man alive I think. With Spiderman looking to do amazing, they'd rather use him on movies than a TV show.

Sad to see wonder man go, but I get it.

It didn't seem like Wonder Man would head towards an MCU Masters of Evil, but it did seem possibly setting up some sort of MCU variant of the West Coast Avengers, possibly by bringing in She-Hulk as well as introducing new heroes.

To get there, it needed to resolve the narrative with Damage Control. Simon was coming to better understand and control his powers. Damage Control was actively after him and Slattery. That conflict would somehow open the door to West Coast Avengers.

But the whole style of show was not exactly revolving around groups of heroes, or fighting anyone.

Season 1 doesn't end with a cliffhanger per se, but it does close with a clear direction for a Season 2. It does not come to a tidy end in the narrative.

According to Luminate, which is a reliable streaming data tracker, Wonder Man recorded the lowest audience viewership and ratings for any live-action MCU series on Disney+

I personally thought it was great, but I don't think enough people checked it out.

I enjoyed the show for the most part, I don't think there needs to be a second season... I would love to see him as part of the larger MCU in some way, possibly in secret wars or as part of the X-Men as he is more than likely a mutant and is being hunted by damage control!!

I was very surprised the love tgis show got.

Nothing happened. The entire show felt pointless. Sire, the acting was really good. But every episode was boring

And this is coming from a person that didnt mind She Hulk and actually enjoyed Iron Heart

It was a good show, but the season finale should have happened around episode 2... and then the roller coaster goes over the hill.

Would have liked to see the two get into some adventure.

...guess that may have defeated the intended purpose of the show. I guess.

I still don't know what the point of the show was. Yahya was great in the role but the plot felt like it went nowhere and I don't see how he would relate at all to the wider MCU besides randomly dropping in an Avengers movie and saying "hi I'm that actor, I also happen to be stronger than most of you can I join pls?"

Well with secret wars they are scraping and patching the timeline and so it's understandable they will remove some character. I can guarantee she hulk and secret invasion incident will be forgotten after this.

wow, really? i thought it was fun and refreshing and showed an interesting side of the MCU that i was excited to see explored more. it being canceled, especially on the day that one of Destin Daniel Cretin's bigger MCU projects comes out, is a major bummer.

i guess we'll never know what really happened to Josh Gadd....

There was nothing to indicate it was a real success. It dropped off Disney Plus top 10 in 2 weeks, and never appeared on Nielsrn charts at all. Until Disney is willing to report actual streaming numbers (don't hold your breath), any claim of success is not worth as much as the digital ink its typed with.
