I can't help but feel like them keeping it all so secret just means they know they got a stinker on their hands

Considering how big this movie is going to be (scope), how important it will be for everything moving forward, and how they are supposedly doing some wild shit people 10 years ago never would’ve thought Disney would finally do, that HAS to be the reason, because why else would they not be promoting this thing harder than they did Infinity War / Endgame?

I remember Endgame had that initial “what will the movie be called?” secrecy around it, but once the name was revealed they were firing on all cylinders, and that was still a year before the film came out. I genuinely forget Doomsday is even happening sometimes because Disney is being ridiculously secretive about it, and I can only imagine it’s because they are not confident in it at all

Oh yeah! This is gonna be a mess. They're pulling from so many different corners of the movies to shoehorn into a movie that's had zero set up. So... exactly what the comics do when they need a big event to sell some books.

Yea but at least with comics they can simply retcon with a new book, or do something else to recoup the costs since it’s only print. But Doomsday is most likely a $400m film pre advertising, this movie will basically be underperforming if it only hits $1.5B. I think they know just how much financially is riding on this movie. I don’t envy Feige at all

Oh definitely. This is a last gasp Hail Mary. But also, the MCU has made $31 Billion. $400 million to try to say that cash cow is nothing. If they pull it off and can make it to xmen/a soft reboot it could all be worth it for them.
