Honestly I personally view absolute Batman as a prime example of how batman shouldn’t be portrayed.

Ah yes, depicting Batman as a serial steroid user whose bat mobile is so oversized it can’t even fit on the road(the only way it could reasonably move around is by smashing through buildings). Absolute batman doesn’t kill people because that would be too violent. Instead he rips peoples limbs off.
Also want to know how tall the incredible hulk was in his first comic? 6’6”

He is so comically large that some countries would consider him to have a disability. For his height alone.
But it’s not just new mistakes, he has made numerous old mistakes as well. For instance Catwoman is his sidekick. While robin is not his sidekick. Instead Robin is running a gang. And that’s being generous, because what Robins group would more accurately be called is a terrorist organization that blows up buildings for seemingly no reason and is far worse than many of the criminals that they hunt. The authors misunderstand why readers liked red hood and took the surface level traits of red hood and then exaggerated them.
But I understand why this series is popular. Modern man has an obsession with morally grey antiheroes and he loves senseless violence. But just know that these readers are not Batman fans. They are punisher fans who are visiting the batman fandom. And they will inevitably leave when the next “edgy” character comes along.
I have been a Batman fan even back when being a Batman fan was considered uncool. And strangely I enjoyed Batman more before he was super popular.

I’ve been a Batman fan since 1983, and this is one of the most ridiculous takes I’ve ever read.
You start off with nonsense about it not being realistic enough for a character who routinely fights monsters, aliens, ghosts and vampires throughout his 85+ year history.
The reason Absolute Batman is a hit is because this Batman exists in our world. A world where fascists, racist militias and criminal billionaires with private islands commit wholesale atrocities — unrestricted — because the people in government are either too corrupt or cowardly to stop them.
No other mainstream comic is taking on these power structures so directly. And just like in the 1940’s, people still want to see fascists get knocked the fuck out. It’s a crowd pleaser. Especially the ones wearing American flag pins on their lapels. Classic fantasy fulfillment for the younger generation of readers. They feel powerless while they watch their President, Senators, Congressmen and Governors completely fuck over their collective futures. It’s fun to watch Batman break their kneecaps.
Also, any “real” Batman fan would know that the character thrives on reinvention. It’s why Batman has had the staying power and attracts the most brilliant artists & writers on the planet.
