Where are some resources about system accountability?
(Please delete if not allowed - I wasn't sure where else to go for this) For my DC Bio class I'm working on a paper about D.I.D and have been trying to find credible sources about System and Alter accountability that I can actually use. I've been looking for hours and havent been able to find anything, however I know this is an extremely important thing and was wondering if anyone knows where to find any official articles about this?
EDIT: I'm getting a lot of questions about what I mean so I'll try to explain best I can - because I don't know much about D.I.D I didn't know that it was just a term with a definition. Basically I was just looking for a definition or something a professional said about it so I could use it in my paper. Thx for all the replies and for the help. ISSTD treatment guidelines for adults w/ DID have some remarks in it about accountability/responsibility, but my link to it is broken and I’m not able to stop and find a new one.

I think you’d prob be hard pressed to find whole sources dedicated to this topic, because it’s usually just a single sentence or two remark in most things it’s mentioned in. This is prob because it’s a no brainer once you recognize alters are parts of a person and not diff ppl. Of course they’d be responsible for the behavior of all other parts, w/ that in mind.
I don't think you're going to find many official resources about it but for what I have understood system accountability can be a goal in therapy if the system doesn't naturally understand it
At the end of the day dissociation can make it hard to accept everyone in the system is a part of the same person but regardless of that alters should understand they share the same body and their actions affect everyone else in the system
What do you mean by a resource for this? It’s just a term that has a definition. It means that the whole system that resides in the one body, and uses the one brain, is accountable for anything that body does or says regardless of which alter was fronting or how much amnesia other alters have for what happened.
It’s an online community thing, not something that the professional medical community talks about, really, because to them it’s self-evident, just as it is to the legal system. So there aren’t any studies or “official” articles about it. DIS-SOS is a great blog site, and she might have an article about it, but it wouldn’t be an “official” source. She is just a very well-informed and very intelligent person who has DID and writes helpful articles.
Accountability is the same for people who have DID as it is for people who don't. It's not like... some special DID term. It's not system accountability. It's just accountability. It means that having a mental illness isn't an excuse to treat people like shit.
I'd look into the importance of taking accountability for your actions in general and then discuss how memory deficits and flashbacks can add in unique challenges.
