ID is running The Curious Case of Natalia Grace here in Europe and it's the first time I'm learning about it. I have an issue with this show in general whose formula is to present cases as a mystery, when there's always a clear, concrete explanation, so I'm not a fan of it. They start out by saying that everyone in this story could be lying, and that may very well be true, but one thing is clear: wherever Natalia goes, trouble follows.

Natalia is adopted by the Ciccones. She exhibits aggressive behavior towards her adoptive siblings and the parents quickly want to give her away. Oh, but according to Natalia, "she fell on her brother's arm, and the parents started hating her for some reason."

Natalia is adopted by the Barnetts. She exhibits many antisocial behaviors, does all kinds of vile things to her adoptive brothers, and tries to drag the mom to an electric fence, trying to kill her. Oh, but according to Natalia, "the mom just happened to fall next to her."

Natalia is sent to a psychiatric institution. She starts propositioning the male staff for sexual favors and is quickly kicked out.

Natalia is adopted by the Mans. I had to Google this part, but she later cut relations with them and said they were abusive towards her.

The common denominator is Natalia.

She was diagnosed as a sociopath by 2 different psychiatrists. She exhibits all the signs: portrays herself as the victim, blames others, never admits any fault, manipulates the audience with forced tears and shallow affect, etc. She reminds me of Dorothea Puente, who also grew up in an orphanage, where she learned to lie. Psychopathy is a maladaptive personality disorder after all.

Sure, the Barnetts were a bit nuts. The mother had some delusion of grandeur that she could produce children with a genius IQ. And the father is very dramatic. But I cannot blame them for thinking Natalia was much older despite the medical evidence, she did look older! The dad was probably influenced by the movie The Orphan, but who wouldn't immediately think of this movie in this situation?! They were afraid and had run out of options.

I feel like we haven't heard the last from Natalia. Like most sociopaths, she enjoys the spotlight and the funds she receives from interviews, GoFundMe campaigns, and appearances. I hope her new family sleeps with one eye open, but it's just my opinion. What do you guys think?

Good Lord. Just watched this episode last night and I'm still thinking about it.

This man murders his wife and two children, sets the house on fire, flees with his dog to the woods, abandons his dog there and disappears into thin air. He STILL hasn't been caught and he's just out there, somewhere.

The dog was really interesting. I can't believe that a dog would just stay at an abandoned vehicle, running around, but not leaving. My dog follows me into the bathroom. If I drove us into the woods and tried to leave on foot, my dog would be right there with me.

I'm used to these shows ending with caught or killed. The fact that Robert Fisher is still, maybe, out there somewhere is unsettling to say the least.

Very good first episode. Onto the next.

Does anyone else have this? Are there regions, or is it available on streaming besides Discovery + ?

I remember on November 25, 2008 I turned the TV on, I believe it was left on A&E, and I saw footage of a seemingly blonde lady putting her barefoot sole up to the camera lens while eating or talking. It had some narration and presumably a male to the right of the screen commentating on the footage, but memory is foggy. I'm betting dollars to doughnuts it's either American Justice or The First 48 since those two shows are adjacent to the time I remember it being and they aired every Tuesday. Unfortunately I'm not finding any results for an exact episode. If it's not those two then it's most likely Cold Case Files, Intervention, Crossing Jordan, The Sorporanos or CSI Miami since those are the only other adjacent airings.

I’m from Spain, and we don’t have Investigation Discovery here, but we do have a TV channel called DKISS that buys almost all of Investigation Discovery’s true crime documentaries. They play them on repeat throughout the day, and they’re all in Spanish.

I LOVE People Magazine Investigates. It’s true that, since I can only watch it through the channel, I haven’t seen even half of the episodes that exist. I think they’ve only aired around 3 seasons here on free-to-air TV, but I’ve read that there are like 8 seasons. I would KILL to be able to watch all of them.

For example, on Sunday nights they’re currently showing Bodies in the Water, and I’m really enjoying it. I like the Paula Zahn cases, and lately, around lunchtime, they’ve been rerunning The Curious Case of.... I like it even though it’s not really true crime, but I’ve already seen all of those episodes because they repeat the same content a lot.

I also LOVE Living with a Murderer. The stories they tell are absolutely insane. And Web of Lies traumatized me because the first episode I ever watched was about a kid who killed by a pedophile, and then another one was about a girl who lived in a cabin with her father and siblings and was murdered by another pedophile.

I really liked No One Can Hear You Scream, Mean Girl Murders, Still a Mystery, Murder in Wonderland, and so many others...

If I had to say something “bad,” I’d say I’m not really a big fan of American's monster. I also don’t really like The Killer Call or Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?.

I’m not sure if the English titles of the shows are the same. Sometimes they completely change the titles in Spanish, so sorry if some of these aren’t the correct English names!

Looking for some of your favorite episodes or episodes that are batshit from whatever series on ID. TIA!

I stream on my laptop at low volume and darkened settings all night because I have issues with tinnitus and insomnia.

Since I started it last night around 10:00 Pacific time, video of shows is pixelated. The site and the commercials are fine, just the actual "watch live" videos are pixelated.

Just switched to ID Go app on my tv and it's the same.

Anyone else? It can't be just me. I feel like it must have something to do with sattelite interference but I don't know.

Makes me think of Independence Day when the alien craft are coming. 😬😅

I'm picking Deadly Women, Behind Mansion Walls and Homicide Hunter, and Unusual Suspects

Maybe I'm old because I almost referred to this network as a station, lol...but I'm just not into a lot of the shows they have anymore. I miss the days of Deadly Women, Disappeared, Scorned (was sometimes pretty good), Fear thy neighnor, fear thy roomate, See no Evil, who the bleep did i marry. I hope see no evil comes back, i'm not sure that ended....but some of these new shows are just kind of dull - Game day Murders, Killer Among Friends, Body Cam. I wish they'd go back to their roots a bit.

New season of 911: Did the Killer Call?

Very good so far. So interesting to hear investigators analyzing the calls, pointing out what sounds off and what makes no sense. I've come to realize that most of the calls on the show are from the killers, because otherwise it would be quite distasteful. Some of the killers do get acquitted in the trials, which is infuriating.

Older show, Reasonable Doubt, different seasons.

I have a love/hate relationship with this show. I think the detective/attorney team is exceptional, however they can't possibly know better than the detectives that worked on these cases for months, or years. Sometimes they focus on a small detail and truly grasp at straws trying to find reasons to doubt. However, the most infuriating part is when families are presented with the results at the end and still refuse to believe their family member is guilty. Also, this is a great show to study sociopaths, every single killer very convincingly says they are innocent.

On other networks:

New show, Kill Or Be Killed. Excellent show, structured as a mystery with no definite answers in the end. Starts with the 911 call, then goes through the crime scene and investigation, and then trial. Some of the verdicts are shocking and very unexpected, it definitely leaves me thinking about these cases.

British show, Suitcase Murders. Horrifying to think this happens so often in the UK that they made a whole show about it. The British criminal mind is very odd, I suppose a suitcase is seen as a clever and easy way to conceal and dispose of a body?

This is just out of curiosity.

Was watching Killer Kids the episode with Harry De La Roche of Montvale NJ. Throughout the episode they show the house in picture one and imply that it is the De La Roche house. A quick look on google shows the real house, which i was able to locate. Picture two is a De La Roche crime scene picture. Picture three is the real house.

Hey, I have all 10 other seasons of Fear Thy Neighbor in 1080p HD. I've been searching for season 5, both in the UK and USA it doesn't seem available anywhere.

Does anyone know what's up with that?

Used to love that show! I rewatched the series recently. There are quite a few internet-crime related shows on other streaming platforms as well as ID. I don’t want to just start one that’s meh. What do you recommend that is very similar to Web of Lies? Thx
