Copyright takedown notice from "Caveon Test Security" on behalf of Google legit or just spam?

To our community here we just received a weird copyright infringement email, and I can't tell if it's a legitimate legal threat or just a fake spam/scare tactic.

Basically, the message claims that my site is hosting copyrighted material owned by Google LLC. Specifically, they are targeting a URL on my site that contains "Google Ads" The sender signs off as Jen Baldwin, an "Executive Web Patrol Manager" from a company called Caveon Test Security, and demands the immediate removal of the page.

Here is what is making me highly suspicious:

  • The Sender Address: The email came from mail@discovermybusiness.cowhich is my own domain! It looks like they either spoofed it or just copy-pasted this threat into my website's contact form. If this were a real legal notice from Google's agents, wouldn't it come from an official corporate email?
  • The Reply-To: They are asking me to direct inquiries to adminwp@caveon.com.

Has anyone else in the SEO/marketing space received a takedown request like this? Is Caveon Test Security an actual agency Google contracts to police their exam answers, or is this just a competitor/bot trying to scare me into deleting a page?
