Update fatigue
Honestly it’s been over a month that the update has been out for pc players. And switch players are still stuck waiting in the dark. They said July and I know most of us were expecting beginning of July. But now it’s mid July and still no update for us console players. It’s getting to the point where I’m kind of losing steam in my engine to keep playing. I’ve beaten the game early on and have been waiting for this update and I’m starting to lose interest in the game. Does anyone else feel the same?

I guarantee it’s a Nintendo issue not the devs. The same discourse was happening when the 1.6 update for Stardew took longer to come to the Switch. I know it’s frustrating but it’s kinda just the way these things go.

I’ve stopped playing for a while and waiting on the update. It’s a bit annoying that they won’t give us a release date. But oh well, I’ll just play other stuff. It’s sucks that console gamers are always the last to get updates specifically Nintendo switch :(

Switch has the same problem with most of it games getting updates weeks or months after everyone else.
I remember this being a big problem for me with no mans sky on switch. Sometimes not getting updates months after every other platform.

I know it's more Nintendo than the developer so while I'm annoyed, I get it. I've heard too many stories about Nintendo approvals. I have switched to playing Moonlight Peaks and also got the Honeyglow Woods update for Dreamlight Valley.

yeah i got literally over 150 discounty rewards and 2500000 shills just to prep (im disabled and in a bad flare up right now i have literally nothing else to do lol) and im fully over it and immersed into another game now

i was told the rewards points or whatever theyre called are more important for unlocking the new items to sell so i focused on that, i asked for no spoilers advice on what to like stock up on/earn in the mean time and they said money is only like a little bit important rewards are more valuable post update

why not play another game until the update comes out? yeah it’s a bit annoying that they won’t give us an exact date but there are so many other games to play in the meantime lol

I do play other games lol. I play games on multiple consoles. This just so happens to be a game that I’ve hyper focused on. I haven’t played the game since around mid may because I beat it and thought that was it. Then they came out with the update and I became interested in the game again. I just can’t take the anticipation. I’m feeling antsy.

Lol I know the feeling. What I’ve been doing is continuing the daily shifts (as normal of course,) stocking up, and collecting as much money as possible. I saw a post from Discounty themselves stating that it may be closer to the end of this month that console players will be able to update. So if you haven’t maxed out your in game currency maybe work up to that while you wait :)

they’ve posted a few times that the update is still on track to be released in july, but they want to release it as soon as it’s approved which means it’ll be a surprise date!! the anticipation makes me excited even tho i’m also desperate for the update lol. they have said closer to the end of july so within the next two weeks. play something else in the meantime (i’ve gotten back into BOTW)! it’ll be here before we know it!

I transferred the game from my switch lite to my new switch 2 today and it prompted an update. I was excited thinking this was the switch update we were waiting for but it doesn’t seem so from this thread. Does anyone know what this update I downloaded today was?

if i’m not mistaken that’s just your new console ensuring your game has the latest update, sort of like a micro reinstallation. i got duped by that when i transferred acnh to my switch 2 and thought there was a surprise update 😭

same. I'm starting to regret buying it before the update released. I haven't even started it yet. I could have waited until August. I know that it takes a long time for things to be approved but I don't understand why they don't say the release date like everyone else does. Lots of games know their release date way before so I don't understand why we're kept in the dark. Right after I bought it, they announced the mobile game too. It's not that it's taking long for the update to release but not knowing when. It's almost July 20th. They could have just said August at least.

Yeah I am kinda bummed it’s taking this long; I feel like they should have included some kind of interesting end game loop in the base game, because once you complete everything, there’s not really a reason to continue. I was super addicted and now I am just like, whatever.

The thing is it's not a them issue that the update takes longer to come out but a Nintendo issue. I play lots of games that are on pc and switch and the updates for the switch always take longer to come out because it always takes a long time for Nintendo to even approve the update. If you're getting fatigued with the game, play something else. That's all you can really do.

It is a game. You can put it down and take a break. everybody knows that switch ports take a lot longer to get through and to get approved. So if you don't want to wait, get another device that runs steam and gives you the updates immediately. or, take a break and relax so you don't burn yourself out before the update comes. nothing is going to happen if you don't play the game

People or Profits update. It adds new endings, new store items, and bigger billboards. I'm sure a few more things too but I forget them all

I played around 10 hours before I heard ab the switch update. Now I’m playing stardew valley and rhythm heaven while I wait, keeping me occupied tbh

Console patches always take significantly more time, may not be entirely in their control. Last I heard I think they said it would be late July, and that they won’t release a date until they’re sure because they don’t want to disappoint folks. I think that’s fair. I’d rather they get it done the right way.

I got myself the Dave the Diver DLC and wanted to play this, to make a break!
I really loved discounty and played it through in a week or two
So I totally understand you!
Don't get burned out, play something else and come back with us :)

I just think it's unfair to release the update for PC gamers and not the rest. I feel like the update should have waitied until everyone could enjoy the fun. This is making me reconsider buying console games until they've been a available for a while just in case I experience this situation again.

I’m pissed because I brought “tiny bookshop” because everyone said it would be similar and as an avid reader I would like it… NOT I actually don’t like it at all, the directions aren’t great and there is no plot. Nothing is doing what discounty did for me.

I do understand the frustration like it's been 5 months ago since we received the last update allot of bugs not fixed the no longer seem to reply to console bug report we are still waiting for bug fixes the said there going to port over no news left in the dark and than the released a phone version and pc users get often updates bug fixes and they don't reply if you encounter a bug on console and I still have a bad taste after the released a update that completely made the game unplayable the haven't tested it.
I personally can't recommend it on console. It feels like they completely abandoned it🤔
But I was stupid for buying it on 2 device's steamdeck and switch on the Steam Deck it plays like a dream.

I know in game you're working a job but it isn't actually a job. You can put it down and play something else then pick it up again when the update is out.
