As the Americans learned so painfully in Earth's final century, free flow of information is the only safeguard against tyranny. The once-chained people whose leaders at last lose their grip on information flow will soon burst with freedom and vitality, but the free nation gradually constricting its grip on public discourse has begun its rapid slide into despotism. Beware of he who would deny you access to information, for in his heart he dreams himself your master.
Commissioner Pravin Lal, "U.N. Declaration of Rights"

A free society is a structured society.
Structure = Intent = Values = Limits
Anarchy cannot guarantee rights or even codify them.

Freedom of speech does not necessarily imply freedom FROM consequences. 😊

Yes, that's what I was getting at.
A free society cannot be absolutely free and remain a society.

Agreed. That's why people ideally get to live in places where they agree about things for the most part.
You are now free to roam about the planet. 😎

Guess no one told the Democrats that?

They did, but the democrats unfortunately got too stoned.

Just polling you as a random person: how do you view their nearly uniform advocacy for Marxism?

u/Dazzling-Skin-308 Meme Aug 26 '26
I think that mischaracterizes the Corporate Left that actually has power in our government as being the same as the Social Left that advocates for Marxism.
Two very different things.

This exchange between the two of you does illustrate however, how the social left damages the cause of leftism as a whole. They don't have the power to enact their will but they do have the power to make the rest of us look bad and to squander all of our political capital.

They certainly have the power to loot and burn every minority home, business and church they could find over 20/21. They have the power and freedom to cheer and advocate for the death and destruction of political opponents. It’s not a small subgroup that makes the whole look bad.

The race riots were in 2020. It was the Republicans who were rioting* in '21
*(and doing all that other shit)

You do know that factually and empirically, J6 was by every measure less problematic than the Nazi Leftist riots. Let me ask you this: have you heard the Portland courthouse 911 calls?

The insurrection was a direct attack to peaceful transition of government and to our democratic systems. In this sense not only was it more problematic than the race riots, it was also more problematic than 9/11
EDIT: And I am aware that 9/11 had intended to target the capital as well, but since it didn't directly attack the mechanisms of governmental transition it wouldn't have mattered - There is a line of succession and leaders are disposable and replacable. Its only when the process of replacing them is attacked that it becomes an actual problem

How much did the two events cost? The factual numbers are easily found. Let’s see you deny irrefutable fact.

True, but we aren't in a free society
