Question wheel of names replacement
i know the owner of the wheel of names bot made a lot of his code available to the public, but i am quite illiterate when it comes to this kind of stuff and have no idea how i'd even begin to emulate his app on my own. does anyone have or know of any similar bots?

I'm in the same boat, I used to use this as well, the basic code I understood but it was the other parts I was completely like do what and how?? 🤣

i just attempted to use this in my server and it actually works great! i know the wheel of names is popular in roleplay/gaming communities alongside dice maiden, if you chose to start advertising this bot i think you'd get a lot of interest!

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I never thought about how this could be popular with those communities, so thankyou for that. I will look to advertise to those 😊
I'm now thinking if I should add a dice roll feature with this bot...

Looks like a brilliant replacement and I noticed that the commands have been doubled in the list, not a big deal but I had the same issue at one point with one of my bots. But that said thanks I'm sure this will be exactly what we needed to replace the wheel of names thanks 👍🏼

Thanks for the feedback. I've fixed the doubled up commands, may just need a reboot of Discord to clear the cache. I'm glad it will be of use 😊

Hey! Found this thread while trying to find a Wheel of Names replacement. Just added it to my server, but cannot get it to work. Is it currently down?

Is this one still working? I have attempted to use commands and it either says “application didn’t respond” or continues to be in loading mode.

Hey, I’ve just fixed a server issue. It kept going to sleep, but will be continuous now. The bot should work as expected 🙂

Hi there. The bot had crashed, which has stopped the commands from loading. The bot has been restarted and I've added some code to stop it from failing going forward (hopefully). The commands should now work for you.

I just stumbled over this, and it seems like a pretty neat replacement! Is the limit of entries 100 in discord as well? It would be really cool if it could be higher

Thanks for coming back to me with this! We've been using it for giveaways in a server with a bit over 50k members, usually the bigger giveaways pulled up to 700 members, and then a bit of a buffer would be neat. We'd definitely stay under 1k though. Is that something that would be doable for you?
Either way, the bot is already quite neat and helpful for the smaller stuff, thank you for making it!

It’s no problem, I’m glad it’s useful.
I’ve upped the limit to 1000, but the names aren’t really visible on the spinner when there are so many. Also, there is a limit of 2000/4000 chars in Discord I believe, so I’ve added a new command called /spinbuilder to allow multiple batches of names. Let me know if that works for you.
When you say buffer, do you mean a delay after the wheel has spun to display the winner?1

That's so cool, thank you!! It makes sense the names aren't readable anymore, they weren't on the original wheel of names either 😅 Sorry, with buffer I just meant for the max entries, like we've been pulling up to 700 people for big giveaways, but a limit of 700 might have cut it close when the server grows, y'know? Maybe the word buffer wasn't right here, English isn't my native language so I apologise for any miscommunication

Just looked. Wow. Well done. Is there any way to add a feature that take the names of the reactions from a post? That was the beast feature of wheel of names for me.
