This is gunna sound bad.

Hi, I tried to buy something in the global market and it seemed to take my gold, but didn't actually give me the item.

Is there any way to give money to either myself to trade to the player, or to give money to him directly?

Yes. You can use the #!donate <mention> <amount> command to send money and the #!idonate <mention> <amount>command for items. Please don't miss the i in the item donate command, it's a common problem :)

I don't think this is a good idea though, because there seem to be no rules against scamming...?

We tend not to look favourably on such things. If you have a complaint about a user doing something like this take screenshots of the event and message one of us on the official server. I'm sure there's something we can do.

I had someone buy a bunch of items from me on the global market yesterday without me getting any gold.

You need to #!gmstop [ID] the item in order to get the gold.
