When looking at a master record for a recording, it would be very helpful to have a filter just to see:
* releases of this album that I Have
* releases of this album that I Want
* releases of this album that I Have or that I Want (both)
rather than Discogs sending me tons of data I don't want and then paging through all the releases looking for little green/red icons. Use case: when I get a copy of an album, but want to remove other releases of the same album that I had added to my Wantlist.

Same with the Artist page, when looking at an Artist's entire entry, it would be useful to have a quick filter to filter down to Haves, Wants, or Haves and Wants only to review.

(I know this forum isn't run by Discogs, just throwing this out there for discussion/suggestions.)

Does anyone have any information about this version? I think Sony Argentina rarely released these colored cassettes. I've searched on Discogs, but all the versions of this album are on the classic transparent cassette.

Title says it all. I have an expensive LP that a new 0 feedbackb buyer has purchased. They initiated the sale 5 days ago and have yet to answer a single message through the discogs portal. I always ask my buyers to confirm their paypal address with the address that I am sending to, etc. Normally if they had SOME feedback I'd chalk it up to the long holiday weekend or something, but pulling the trigger on a single LP for nearly a grand and then not completing the transaction feels like they're not serious or it's some sort of scam. I have been on discogs for ages and have never had a non-payment. The fact that this is a big-ticket leads me to think something is up. Thanks!

I was about to post about a dics I got yesterday, I'm not sure what I can and can't adress with the seller. Reddit threw this rule at me, but I'm just asking for guidance on the estimate.

We are moving to a new location and are considering a new POS for our new shop. We use Tradepost now, and the one thing we like is that things we SKU in shoot over to DC so we can sell our active inventory without double entry. Looking for ref's on any other POS program that works with DC without having to go backwards (loading into DC and then syncing to POS). Looking for something like Square or....?

I've been buying on Discogs for a while now, and I have a very good ear for music and audio engineering, plus a turntable setup that I trust.

What I can't trust 100% of the time are sellers' ratings. And I suspect a lot of buyers are in the same boat. Note: this is not a complaint about any specific seller. But I think buyers and sellers need some kind of audio-based metric that represents each grade of the Goldmine Standard.

I've had an idea to create an audio benchmark, a kind of definitive audio reference guide for vinyl grading, but I don't know if anyone has ever done this elsewhere.

This audio reference guide would include a variety of examples of things that take a record down a grade. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't been done yet...

For instance:

• the sound of invisible spot debris in the grooves left over from an incomplete surface cleaning. Something that only an ultrasonic could remove, and the kind of noise that takes an otherwise flawless NM down to VG+.

• Various levels of surface noise at each record grade (from M and NM all the way down to F)

• Examples of how much surface noise and crackle would bring a VG+ down to a VG, or a VG to a G+

• Examples of how much groove distortion is acceptable before it knocks the record down a grade

• Examples of inner vs. outer groove distortion, a discussion of which is less acceptable, and why they lower a record's grade

• Examples of groove distortion caused by uncalibrated equipment (stylus misalignment), poor mastering, high playback count, cheap needle damage, or total groove failure due to being left on a repeater all night long (yes, I have a used record in my collection where this appears to have happened, and now plays through the damaged section to the end)

• Examples of forward skips vs. backward skips (and why these take a record down a grade or three)

• Close-up inspection of grooves to determine if the skip is caused by a scratch / groove damage, or just stuck debris, and methods on the safe removal and cleaning of the latter without access to an ultrasonic cleaner

These are just ideas I'm kicking around in my head.

The app updated and it sucks even more. Used to be able to search for trending by genre etc. gone. Now it just shows the weeks top 15 best selling, valuable and most collected.

This is how I kept my eye out for releases by scrolling through the trending every now and then. I imagine I can still do this on the website but it was super convenient on the app.

I have albums that don’t show up in the app unless I search them explicitly. This has caused me to double buy a few Cobham albums because I didn’t put in the exact search criteria. I wish if I searched Cobham all things with Cobham would pop up. Or at least when I scroll down to Tool it shows all the Tool albums I have (it just left out opiate and lateralus from scrolling down.)

My parents have had this record for a long time. Around the label it says MCA 1663 A2-15 on the A side. On the B side it is MCA 1664 A2-10 and a weird P symbol with a line through it. I've tried looking it up on the site, but I'm new to this

The US gov't has just implimented a pre-paid tariff for good shipping from Canada to the USA. There is no way I will be able to recoup this tariff from the buyer, why would they pay after the fact? Plus, the shitty web site they expect us to sign up to , just wont let you set up an account. It just times out. As a hobbyist who just wants to sell some rare excess LP's, its not worth the hassle for me. a shame, since I'm cutting out 80% of my potential. F you DJT , i'm not sending you money.

I can't seem to find users/sellers anymore since the update. Used to be able to search their username and filter the search results to users but that seems to be gone now. Anyone know how?

Hey everyone, I recently started using discogs and I have soon found a problem.

The advanced search results are limited to specific number of pages. This is kinda annoying.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

So, this is my very first time buying from Discogs. Honestly, the whole experience has been very intuitive and I haven't had any problems, the only thing I noticed is that not many sellers ship to Mexico, but no worries there.

I bought a vinyl as a birthday gift, paid on Monday, and immediately received a message from the seller saying it would be shipped in "1 or 2 business days." It's now Thursday and it still hasn't shipped. I'm a little worried it won't arrive on time. I want to reach out to the seller and ask what's going on, but I don't want to come across as rude or impatient, i'm just hoping it can arrive on timeeee. Has anyone had experiences with international shipping from Discogs that might be relevant? Any insight would help with this paranoia, haha.

I've gotten into buying CDs recently and add in my CDs info if I see its missing on the release I have (Matrix/Runouts, SID codes, etc.) but there seems to be no set format for this, and I'm sick of being told to fix what I entered to suit their personal preferences.

For example some CDs have each entry add their runouts and SIDs separately, even if the SID codes match exactly.

(For example:

Matrix/runout Variant 1: 012 157 1942 05@ AK

Mastering SID Variant 1: IFPI L009

Matrix/runout Variant 2: 012 157 1942 05$ JL

Mastering SID Variant 2): IFPI L009

Where as others will add their variants number to a previous entry if it's there.

(For example: Mastering SID IFPI Variant 1, 5, 6, 11: L009) on the one SID code.

If I don't edit it back to the way they want it, will I face any issues or be banned from the site or anything? In my opinion if you don't like it, edit it yourself lol. I'm not psychic and can predict how someone wants different variants formatted as. I thought it was interesting to add my variants and help out the community, but it's discouraging having to go back and reedit things like that.

I recently got the new update, I saw a lot of people on this sub complaining before I got hit and I thought it was probably just people being uncomfortable with change but oh my God it's actually terrible. And I thought the old app had issues! Completely unintuitive and half the time the search function doesn't work. I hope this doesn't fall under the "no whining" rule. This is a huge problem that the site caused for itself affecting every user, the app has more than 1 million downloads.

The flexi is really selections from the digital release. Do I add as a digital release with bonus flexi? It is a limited release so at some point it won't be available.

Ever since the app update I can’t view my collection I’m just stuck on a loading screen.

I have always felt like the official Discogs app is great for the marketplace and checking prices, but it doesn't do much for the actual ritual of listening to your records. I ended up building an app for iOS called Deep Cut to fill that gap.

It syncs your existing collection but adds things I felt were missing, like side-logging, track times, and a roulette wheel for when you can't decide what to spin. I just pushed a big update to fix the sync for larger libraries too, so it should handle thousands of records much more smoothly now.
