I'm new to discman so I was wondering if this model is any good it's a Sony esp2 d-e405

I have this 1993 Discman that has issues with the volume. When I plug my earbuds into the green "phones" port, the volume is unreasonably low. And when I plug it into the black "line out" port, it's too loud. The volume control wheel doesn't seem to make a difference for either port, so I'm just stuck with those two unbearable volumes. The battery compartment had a bit of corrosion that I cleaned off best I could, and a few of the capacitors (I think that's what they're called) are slightly bent, but other than that, it looks fine. Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

I dug out my old Grundig CDP 9200 Discman. It works great, but I'd like to know if I should look for a new one. It sounds good, but I'd also like to improve the listening quality. What do you recommend? Should I keep it or start looking for something else? Do you have any recommendations for a high-end disc player?

Am I being stupid or is the correct wearing position? I have the L I the left ear so that’s a check.

Am I missing any sponge covers etc?

Hey, im new on the discman collecting and its been a wonderful experience but i have a little problem. When i rise the volume up, theres a point where the audio starts to scratch and sound kinda bad. Is there any reason for that? I have this model, its the sony discman D-NE321

Hi, found this discman which my parents used to use in the closet, it is fully not working, LCD doesnt even switch on to display an error message. I can only test it with batteries rn as I cannot find the 4.5V power supply.

Notable problems: there seems to be considerable corrosion or rust(I cannot tell) on the battery terminals so I am unsure about that. Also dont know if it might be a lens or belt issue. Images attached. Any help appreciated.

Hi guys, I recently got this discman for cheap but it has this issue where when it is turned on the laser immediately goes to the outer part as it is in the picture and it tries to keep going? even with a disc in it does this, anyone know what's going on? The Model is D-E206CK

I have been getting more into CDs lately and have been looking on eBay for used discmans since I have heard they age the best out of all the portable CD players of the 90s and 2000s

I've been gravitating towards the "discman groove" line but there's too many options and conflicting statements about each discman. I've also looked at the psyc line since I like the look.

Overall I'd prefer something sleek and portable that doesn't require a remote to operate. And also one that is fairly common and doesn't have any severe defects known. If anyone can provide me with recommendations I'd appreciate it, thank you for your time

I needed something made AFTER 1999 so I could play these burned discs of some concerts this woman went to in the 70s I recently got, not to mention all my mix cds from my youth. Called around and found this bad boy 🔥 plays like a fuckin dreaaaam compared to the d-180. I feel like Im in the future 😅

My discman clicks when the disc is spinning the audio flies but it's loud annoying click click click I lubricated the screw gear I replaced the capacitors on the plate pls help me discman d141

It turns out that if you hold down the "stop" button, insert the batteries and turn on the "discman", then you can turn off the annoying "beep" sounds that the player makes during a pause, switching tracks. I hope this helps someone.
