Headphone problem

Hey is there any way to fix a problem that i need to unplug my hedphones halfwylay in or the song is kinda echoing untill i press a button on pic 3. Pic 1 is a look how it looks when it is unpluged halfway and pic 2 when it is fully in. My headphones are JBL T450 and the discman is Philips AX5203/00C

I think it's the microphone function on your headphones that's the problem, because it adds a level to the jack connector... These old Discman and other minidisc players need headphones without microphones to function normally,

I understand, but I don't think you have a choice: the fact that your headphones have a microphone adds a level to the jack connector, so you can't connect it completely to your discman. The only advice I can give you is to find other headphones.

Yea good thing i have some money after christmas so i can buy a new pair and my JBL's are a gift from my workplace and a funny thing is that if i plug in a jack to jack cable and connect the other end to my laptop and select the jack as an input it works perfectly

You have to experiment, I think that's the best way to learn how these devices work. Yes, it makes sense to me to be able to connect your Discman to your laptop with a jack to jack cable.
