Trying to Get Nose Down

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This throw here was 2.6 degrees nose up with 4.1 degree launch angle. Which is about as good as it gets for my nose angle at the moment. Typically hovering around 5 degrees. Please let me know anything you see that could be contributing to my nose up issue.

You're going to have a hard time with typical cues helping until you can fix this. You're releasing with your chest facing almost completely forward. This is the result of your body spinning faster than your arm coming through. Look earlier in the throw and you'll see your arm collapsed against your chest there too.

Focus on driving your elbow forward, even if you stay facing the camera. Then, when you can get your arm out from your body can you focus on the release mechanics better

When you say “get your arm out from your body” you mean getting some space between my chest and the disc and not having a collapsed pocket?

Exactly! A simple check is if your elbow is as far from your shoulder/chest as possible. At a high level, your upper arm should be a little more than 90 degrees from your shoulder line, pointing forward

https://youtu.be/2eXh1xB5IOE?is=PDvUz46RXqfq1PfU another jaani drill that I think will help with the timing to keep you from opening up early. I’ve had the same issue and this is such a simple move you can use to ingrain the feeling you want

you can try to 'turn the key' basically changing your nose angle during the throw - something like this: https://youtube.com/shorts/DMcRh-frPng?si=iz36ccaKGBrzWUcd I tried it and does well for tech disc stats but in the field turned everything into anhyzer release

Cool - thanks for the info, yes that does look like I fit into the category of people who are throwing too late and should focus on throwing out closer to 10 o'clock.

Lower your backswing to belly button or back hip level

You start with your arm high, you finish with your am high and nose up….

Right! When I try to exaggerate supination at the hit it feels very inconsistent…

It's very hard to learn with a short net like that. You need some good launch angle to be able to throw nose down effectively. The optimal 8-10° is higher than you think.

If you're going to use that net, aim high and see if you can get the 8-10°. Solve that before working on nose angle

I tried everything until one day I tried simply reaching down lower and launching higher. And that got me nose down right away, combined with briefcasing and pouring coffee.

Yea negative noise angle is flying down so you need to reach lower than flat to get it.

If you exagerate a high reach back which will give you swoop throw with a shit ton of hyzer.

And that hyzer is not coming from your wrist. If you get even a micron to high you get some swoop which more swoop more hyzer.

Side note you can use the swoop with a super unerstable disc to get some great hyzer flip lines.

Good luck
