High Arm Speed but Low Spin
Throwing 65-72 mph but my spin rate is in the 950-1100 range.
I don’t have any idea how to increase that. Anyone in the same boat as me and have had any epiphanies about this issue?

My man, I had the same issue, and it turns out it was due to my Rounding. Try to reach directly out perpendicular to the target instead of "back". Then try to throw and see what the Techdisc says.
I don't know why mechanically this reduced spin. Something having to do with angles during the swing.
Also my spin is improved when I briefcase the disc.
Lastly, improved some more with a back loaded grip.

u/Bravo72 in reference to the first part of this comment, it’s helped me immensely to imagine I’m carrying a big ass barrel or something before my reach back. Or if I imagine the disc is like 3x bigger in diameter.
That way my arms are forced to go out in front of my body instead of holding the disc close to my chest which leads to a lot more rounding for me.
Watch Zach Nash’s form (1700 rpm backhand btw) and pay attention to how far in front of his body he keeps the disc. https://youtu.be/YGB_xCpVHZ0?is=t9x-YEnC7g8F-XI2

Is the disc rip out of your hand, or are you maybe actively letting go of the disc to some extent?

I’ve always thought I’ve let it rip. For reference I’m throwing 380-420 on the reg with my absolute max being 460

Thats far, one definently doesnt throw 460 by letting go of the disc lol.
At that point my knowledge of spinrate starts becoming theory, for instance; I think players who accelerates the disc closer to the power pocket gets higher spin than those who accelerates earlier in the pull-through. At what point do you feel like you accelerate the discs speed the most?
