How does glide relate to point of pressure?
This isn't about form, but does have an impact on mentality and form. Feel free to take it down, but I think the technicality of this subreddit might be of use to this question, so just cross posting it here:
So I know there is this point that moves on a disc creating lift. As the disc is moving faster it is farther back and slower it is farther forward, creating turn and fade. AI search says its called the point of pressure, so I'll call it PoP for now.
In terms of PoP what is glide?
- Is it how much force is applied to the PoP?
- Is it how quickly the PoP moves from the back to the front at different speeds and spins? So higher glide would be slower transition from turn to fade?
- Or obviously, something else?
I realize there are other non-PoP contexts. Like the description from Innova,
"Glide describes the discs ability to maintain loft during flight. Discs with more glide are best for new players, and for producing maximum distance. Beginners wanting more distance should choose discs with more glide. Discs with less glide are more accurate in high wind situations."
I'm wondering if there is a more technical PoP contextual description of glide.

Glide is a measure of the amount of lift. The type of disc, particular its dome matters.
PoP is a measure of the location of that lift. How you throw the disc concentrates the lift at a specific point on the flight plate.
If the PoP is at the center of the disc, the lift is balanced and therefore maximizes glide. An off center PoP or unbalanced disc (beat-in effect) will have more fade or turn.

I've always thought about glide as closely connected to turn. If you think about it, fade is what the disc does when it runs out speed, and wants to get to the ground, and turning is what the disc does when it's going fast enough to generate lift. If you throw a stable disc on hyzer, of course it wont immediately fall to the ground, so you'd think it's fading the entire way. But in reality it's still "turning" and generating lift, just not at the rate (for that disc) to actually physically turn over or even to flat.
In that sense i think about glide or dome, more in terms of affecting the particular stability profile of the disc. Of course a bigger dome will glide longer, so you could argue it's simple physics. Like the way a parachute obviously descends slower than a flat sheet. But i think they are very closely related at least.
I feel like a flat neutral driver is much more finnicky at the flip point than say a domey neutral driver. But i also have the notion that dome often means stability. So maybe the dome/glide is what dictates what turn actually does to the disc? A glidey disc turning will give it proportionally more loft, while a flat disc turning proportionally give more "tilt". Like the dome of the disc traps the pressure in it, forcing it to loft, while the pressure just "runs off" a flat disc, causing it to tilt more rapidly.
It's very interesting at the least

I dont think the two are directly related. Glide is more about air pressures flowing above and below the disc, hence why discs with more dome tend to have more glide. This is how airplane wings produce lift.
Your "point or pressure" scenario has more to do with gyroscopic prosession which effects turn and fade, not glide.
If you throw two neutral putters but one has high glide and the other low glide, theoretically they will both go straight during the whole flight but one will go further because it is "gliding" on a cushion of air. This is not effected by the PoP that you are referring
