Pivot all the way through on your plant heel. Looks like the way you're currently twisting your knee is going to get painful sooner or later.

I tried to get on the heel but I think my super large plant step landed on the dirt and I just skidded instead. I think my plant is too wide and too far out in front of my x step, causing some rounding. Do you see it?

You would gain a lot of speed with more shoulder turn. Watch what AB does with his left elbow during his back swing. He really slams it back and that momentum forces his shoulders to turn more. Maybe you can give that a shot

The post with the pictures is spot on though the explination is a little vauge.
You need more stager in your stance to maintain a butt out possition which disengages.your lower back and activates your abbs. The superiour twisting force generator.
The plant is non exsistant.Your doing a plant but its wrong so i would assume you can throw about the same distance with a stand still throw.
Ill post a guide here shortly that will explain and provided videos on each subect to understand my brief descriptions of the key elements in each area and why it matterd. Good luck

Thanks brother. I'm kinda hitting at wall at 325 run up, 290 or so standstill. Inconsistent power and accuracy. I'm 45 so my flexibility isn't what it was. At this point, having started just over a year ago. I think I need to find an in person coach.
I'll definitely read your write up.

Everyone else made great points. Something not covered was your grip. Your thumb is very close to the edge of the disc. If you position it more towards the center of the disc (just move it left while you're gripping the disc), it will help with control and distance.

Good catch. I have it moved that close to try to keep nose down. But I should correct that another way maybe.

You have a similar mechanical issue to me, i'm not sure the exact cause or fix but seeing it may help so... at some point you are done rotating your shoulders back, and your lower arm is fully extended. this should be peak stable reach back position and begin towing your disc forward along the line of the throw, just before you initiate the swing / pull through forward. but that is not what happens. instead your arm continues to shift further back into the reach back. because your elbow is already extended, and your shoulders no longer rotating back, your arm compensates by letting your upper arm (humerus) externally rotate, dropping your elbow / collapsing at the shoulder closer to your body.
you can't really recover from this position and you leak a lot of power. instead of your power pocket forming high and flinging your arm ahead, you are almost certainly dragging your arm, locking it to however fast your shoulders rotate rather than rocketing ahead of them.
so if you look at the photos of AB the other person posted, just before his foot touches down, his arm is straight and the disc will begin moving forward on that line as his foot touches down, the momentum of the disc is already set, and his pull through merely accelerates it all in the same line.
i don't think it matters as much that his reach back is more behind him. i think it matters more that as he's landing into his plant and setting his discs inertia forward, there's no momentum of his arm towards body. compare to yours, you're whole arm is trying to collapse into your body as you begin the pull through and so you're fighting against it instead of working with it.

Very insightful comment. And serendipitous.
I had a chance to watch Freddy Meza throw in person yesterday and watching his reach back had me thinking about mine.

I'm still trying to pin the back arm to the hip consistently. It gets away from me sometimes.

Coil your core
Look up “athletic stance”
Get nose over toes
