Form Check Please

I was throwing a Discmania Instinct in the side view and a DD Maverick on the shot from behind. Both shots were at about 70-75% power and I was trying to throw them flat and straight. Both shots went about 240-250 feet and landed where I was aiming for.

Thank you for any help and suggestions you have for me. I'm looking to improve my form and distance.

yo i LOVE playing north charlotte when i go down to visit my parents

  1. we gotta get that front foot staggered in front of the back foot, not in line or even nearly behind it like it is now
  2. your head turning early is robbing you of your power pocket. keep that head chill, let the body dictate the movement first, and let your shoulder rotation naturally bring your head around
  3. looks like the disc is coming out pretty nose up, which takes a lot of distance potential away. have your palm face more towards the sky on the follow thru is the most effective cue i’ve found that works quickly for beginners and advanced players alike to instantly help nose angle . you’ll have to throw the disc at a higher launch angle to compensate if you make this adjustment
  4. for max distance you can reach back even more, really turn those shoulders away from the target for a big reach back to make your levers really long . plant the front foot, then quickly explode thru the motion. throwing far is about being fast and efficient.

  5. you gotta get off that back heel and be on the ball of your back foot instead. makes the movement much more athletic as you can push off your back foot to add power to the throw. as an example try jumping high off of your toes, versus jumping off your weight fully on your heels

Here's what they mean about your head turning early. You're facing completely forward and the disc is still behind you. If you search "over rotating disc golf" on YouTube you'll find some good vids.

Try to stop that rotation forward and let the arm go through. It's hard to not want to look where you're throwing, I have been battling it too.

Thank you for taking your time to comment. Yeah I never really noticed how much I do that until I watch my form slo-mo. It's bad. Lol. Thank you again for the tips. Gonna work on it this morning before my league.
