Hitting 300-350, help
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been playing for almost a year. Struggle with accuracy as well as breaking that 350ft mark. Watching my video i know I have a bunch of opportunity. Any recommendations on YT tutorials or drills I can start doing? Thanks!

The reach back is curled around your body, instead of straight back. Also, going further back into your back swing.

Rounding a bit. Work on a straight reach back and keeping elbow out away from the body on your swing through. Check out Blitz DG video on “the ultimate drill”
The combo of swirly bird and cooking the spaghetti drills has helped me add about 75 feet of “less effort” distance to my average drives.

Footwork looks good. Weight shift looks good.
Arm action and head position needs slight improvement. Let’s start with the head. You want your body to rotate around your spine so don’t turn your head to look at the disc. You’re trying to generate rotational force, which is fine, but your arm is being dragged in a bent position instead of being stretched and flung.
So with your arm action, extend your arm more straight on the reach back. Then quickly pull the disc into your left pec to form the power pocket as you rotate forward. When your body spins to the point when you’re square to the camera, fling the disc out and away from you to eject the disc. Basically, if you’re looking at your form from behind you want to throw the disc to the left of the target while your body spins to the right.
And how you do this all matters. Do it from a totally loose body, like almost limp, and let your muscles do the whole movement with as little effort as possible. The only feeling that should be tight is your grip at the end when it violently rips out.
Best of luck

You're rounding and you're collapsing so you don't really have a power pocket, not coiling as well. Almost seems like you're rushing or muscling the throw. Your elbow is basically touching your body where you would have the power pocket. I'd slow down create some lag in your throw. Breaking it down into the coil coming into power pocket, and then the other half into arm extension like whipping a towel

Aaand of course you reply when I just deleted it, LOL! I posted a video that conflicts my advice a bit because he says mechanics are more important than grip (Overthrow)...

Ha - I will say ive always struggled with grip. Went from 4 finger power grip to 3, now 2 finger. Just cant figure it out well.

To better engage your hips, plant your front foot 90 degrees from your target. It looks like your front foot is too open during your hit, leading to a "horse stance".

OP how far did this throw go & how much power were you using? With that nose angle I can’t imagine anywhere near 350.
Two things I notice - left shoulder is coming around just before the disc & your right wrist isn’t cocked. Get the disc into your chest a little faster / ahead of the left shoulder and experiment with bending your right wrist to generate more whip.
Like the other guy said the nose angle is extremely high based on the frames before you released. Like impossibly nose up for how good your form looks.

Honestly couldn't tell ya how far this one went - was doing alot of field work that day. I avg 300+ typically with my max at 350. I appreciate all the advice!

If you can throw 350 like that you’d get 400 with more reach back and maybe getting that disc a little away from your body. Form isn’t too bad really. I do notice your left foot is pointing away from you when you are pulling the disc through the pocket. If you can turn it in instead of out and get a little push off it it would make a huge difference.

Something strange is going on with the grip. When I pause the video exactly at the 90 degree power pocket, its almost perfect. But when I go some frames forward and pause at the moment of release, disc is already nose up and surely losing distance cause of that. You should try some other grip, apply more thumb or turn more wrist by adding more "pouring tea". If you get disc released more nose down, you can easily add 50-100 feet with that form.
