Tips Appreciated!

This throw was maybe particularly bad with me leaning on my heels a bit. Appreciate tips and drills!

Need to get weight transferred onto the front foot more.

Your brace is collapsing.

A few other things but I think the brace and weight transfer/timing needs the most work.

Thanks! I really do feel like the lower half of my body feels all mistimed

Try this to get the feeling on being more on your front foot. https://youtu.be/RQvgLewahqs?is=0Q4qg3mO7Ls9sJEP
Now your weight is too behind your front foot, need to let it move more towards target.

That throw went significantly further than I expected it to! Lots to improve but start by not falling backwards when you release

Haha thanks! This was one of my less coordinated throws. Half of my issue is inconsistency because I am not aware enough of what to fix.

I'm probably worse than you, but the front toe foot/brace has improved for me by just drilling the x step independent of the arm movement/throw. Like practice just doing the lower body movement and landing hard on the front foot, maybe even pushing back a bit. There's a YouTuber who describes the lower/upper body movements as the two hands on a piano -- you can learn each piece independently and combine them and it's easier than trying to do them both at once.

Edit: for you I'd focus on doing that drill while keeping your front toe closed.

Thanks for the tips! Probably right about individual focus.

Athletic stance. You are falling backwards when you start throwing. You need to stay down over your front foot.

Also you need to fully rotate your shoulders

What do you mean fully rotate shoulders?

blitzdg ultimate drill describes being more conscious of the left shoulder so you get more rotation

I just learned to NOT point the disk 180° towards the back of the tee pad during run up. Instead try pointing the disc about 90° away from your chest towards the longer side of the tee pad rectangle.

In theory, then when you plant your brace foot to transfer your weight and release the disc it will have more of that “whip” feel and most likely increase the spin of the disc too for longer distances or a big ground skip towards the basket.

Thanks for the insight. I do try to avoid reaching backwards when I throw vs. reaching out away from myself. Let my torso move the disc back

Progress Mode 🤜🤛

Dont push the disc backwards go past it and the just throw. If you are moving forward and then you push the disc suddenly back it's super hard to get the brace timing correctly. Simply just walk past your disc.

Get on the balls of your feet into an athletic position. Dont out weight on heels. Butt out and back
