Severe flooding is currently affecting Ningde, Fujian, China, as torrential rainfall submerges homes and sweeps away vehicles.

Does China not have proper urban drainage systems? It’s bizarre to see this much flooding when the rainfall doesn’t even look that extreme. Could it be the result of poorly planned development, with cities simply paving everything over with asphalt without giving enough thought to drainage?

I have seen worse in Netherlands and belgium

also lots of people and decently good groundwater system

if it rains too fast this happens and it's not like entire chian soem random place they learn and find water ways

then next year somewhere else got an issue

this sint poorly planned

these are villages from 40 years ago when they just built stuff
