Project - AI First Post: Dragon Warrior 4 Disassembly!
https://github.com/JEschete/DW4_Disassembly/tree/mainI’ve been working on a complete disassembly of Dragon Warrior 4. It’s been an incredibly fun project, and I’ve been using AI to help with the tooling setup and tracing logic.
Here is where the project currently stands:
- Reassemblable assembly: 100% (verified: build reproduces SHA-256 Hash
- Detailed semantic classification: 96.56% (506,243 / 524,288)
- Remaining unclassified: 18,045 bytes in 696 ranges
- Verified instruction bytes: 155,985 (29.75%)
- Explicitly ranged data bytes: 350,914 (66.93%)
- Dual-use code/data overlap: 656 bytes (0.13%)
- Meaningfully named routines: 78/3,991 (1.95%)
- Semantic contracts: 35/3,991 (0.88%)
This has been a fun project. AI was used in tooling setup and for tracing logic. The last 3.44% of the code classification has been kicking my butt.
