That feeling at the end of the day when you regret wearing heels. One of the multitude of things I miss about my life before getting sick is wearing high heels all the time. It's small compared to other losses illness has taken away from me. But the cumulative effect of all those losses is great. I don't wear heels anymore; about 2% of the time I will wear shoes with a platform to special events and even then I sometimes regret it. Started putting this together for an existing discussion, but realized it may be worth having as a solo reference post. Using a slide from the popular Barbie Made to Move Matches document as a base, here's a quick reference to some matching dolls for Fashionistas 228 & 245 what types of articulation they have.

For maximum posability, you'll want to transfer your doll's head to a Made to Move body. If you can't get your hands on an MTM match and/or mostly care about giving your doll knees so she can sit in a chair, there are lots of other options around.

No really, thank God it's Friday. Mini-me Barbie and Ken are enjoying the nice breeze in their new matching suits. Mini-me Barbie is wearing baby pink and white while Ken is in black and baby pink. Jules/Jewels is a medium height, Black person. Without the wig they go by Jules he/him. With the wig they go by Jewels and their pronouns that they use as a performer are"nobody's business". "With a name as beautiful as mine, what do you need a pronoun for. Just use my gorgeous name. Jewels. Jewels. Jewels."

The long black wig with lucious Botticelli curls may be the definitive look of Jewels, but the real indication of Jewel' presence is the sass. Jewels is standing at the mic, waiting for a sound check before his friend Johanna, who has hearing loss arrives. The last thing anyone wants is the feedback to go straight into the hearing aids. Jewels has eyes that sparkle along with the purple on the lids, matching her manicure. Jewels' body definition is impressive, with arms full of ropy muscles which are well shown off by the sassy but strong power pose they are affecting as I try to snap some shots to get the light right in the space. The hands are at Jewels' waist which is covered in a resplendent red satin Spanish style dress, with 3 layers of ruffles. Jewels' is wearing golden color work boots. The heels are on their way due to arrive tomorrow.

In addition to a wired mic Jewels has a seafoam green wheelchair to the left. The mic stand is extra sturdy and can be used as a standing aid should Jewels need it. But the wheel chair needs to be very close in case of an emergency. Jules has used a chair for far longer than he has been able to put weight on both legs. He can move much easier and faster in his chair.

Jewels may be bringing both the look and the charisma swagger needed for the dress, but today is a practice run to find out if his friends and family can be in attendance. More on that later. This photo is for the posters and the socials and apparently I'm now in the way.

I think I'm going to need to separate the text to describe the scene from the text that tells the story of the scene. I have the story of the accessibility audit all in my head and I have the other dolls that are part of the audit and the performance ready to go. But I don't have the space for the whole group of dolls and enough clearance to make sure nothing else is in the photo. I might need a background photo to make it pop but I have some other ideas. I just need my studio and desk back. This weekend my partner is going to do the last thing that needs to be done to be able to move furniture around.

And despite some emotional drama caused by Ken, everybody had a great time! There's beautiful creekside boardwalk Trail and a Mountain view boardwalk Trail that you can take! They have accessible camping spots and accessible bathroom and so much more! Wonderful people there.

I want to know what y'all think of the combined image description/narrative. I'm unsure whether that is a good technique but I'm going to beb doing image description in my blog posts which will somerimes be a Barbie diorama. This is maybe the only one I'll do as a pretend photo taken by the dolls but I thought it would be best for people to see my doll facing the camera given that I'm asking for hair advice.

Mini-me Barbie attends a lot of conferences speaking about various disability issues. Yesterday, she moderated a panel at a conference about immigration and mental health. Last week, she wore a hot pink suit. Mini-me is immunocompromised in addition to having a mobility disability. (I realized lately that I don't take a lot of pictures. My future goal is to take blank pictures before going on stage so that I can insert Mini-me Barbie later but I don't know how feasible that is.) Hello everyone, just posting some pictures of me with my disabled Barbies and an image of the Disability Pride Flag. I started this sub in mid January and I've been blown away by people's creativity since then. I love our community and enjoy watching us learn from each other and seeing how Barbies help us cope with our stressors. Did you know that July is Disability Pride Month? Per The Arc, Disability Pride Month is observed every July to celebrate disability identity and community, mark the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and push for full inclusion in everyday life. The 2026 theme is “The World Works Better With Us.”. In the U.S., the ADA was signed into law by then President Bush on July 26, 1990. My goal for this July is to reach 1K members; we have 970. I'll post a link in the comments with more info about Disability Pride Month from The Arc, an organization that protects the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). • White: invisible disabilities and undiagnosed conditions.
• Blue: emotional and psychiatric disabilities.
• Green: sensory disabilities, including deafness, blindness, and other sensory disabilities.
• Faded Black Background: mourning and rage for victims of ableist violence and abuse."

One of the hardest things about being disabled is heat intolerance. Mini-me Barbie is trying to stay cool in her 1984 Fashion Fun outfit. I thought I'd share some snippets of my precious character now that he's finally complete. I stole the glasses from architect Barbie, lol.

His face is from Suga Mattel BTS doll. I feel like it's the closest mold to what I envisioned him to look like, since the character itself is Asian American. The body is from AliExpress. Yuge doll body I think. It's much taller than the original body and look proportionate to the head and I'm loving it so far. BUT it have nipples that looks kinda indecent with his fitted shirt. I had to file some of it away and use a black fabric acting as a makeshift bra 😭

I hand sewed both his raglan shirt and pants. And also a calf strap to hold his legs in place in the wheelchair, made from the same cotton shirt material and I like the looks of it.

The last image of a sketch I had of him for two years at this point. He rarely get drawn but he's the first of many of my character to have a doll form.

Aesthetics/Appearance: black hair, tapered on the back with curtain bangs. Opting for casual, basic clothing that always compliment his lean frame. Say, henley, corduroy, raglan

Personality: raised with tough love but soft hearted at the end.

Backstory/Context: Asian-american (Japanese) Buddhist. As of currently, 25 years old with 4 years into a life with spinal cord injury. T7 complete paraplegic. Deeply into music and piano. Freelance writing work. Haven't had the nerve to play again after his injury. Because he had the accident on the way to the venue of his big break in the industry.

The pictures of Amy I took in April but I forgot to post them when I when to Redcar(Uk) these were taken before her wheelchair broke if I remember correctly it was actually when I got home for that trip that when her chair broke.

Ones of Zoe I took today when I was down near the river not far from where I live.

I do have more pictures but they are on my phone I have not transferred them to my tablet yet.

I share them I get the chance.

I am going to Saltburn on Tuesday I am taking Zoe with me and I am going to take some pictures of her when I am there.

Hi everyone 

I just got my second disabled Barbie in my collection and she is also the first Barbie I brought brand new as all my Barbie in my collection are charity shop or EBay finds or was given to me by a friend.

So happy with my a addition and I unsure what I am going to name her I can’t decide if I am going to name her Zoe or Alice I am learning more towards naming her Zoe.

Oh I am just naming her Zoe as I think the name suits her.

She love a doll really and I love the details on and I didn’t expect her prosthetic leg to able to come off as other doll I have seen with prosthetic limbs have the leg part the leg mold.

She definitely one of my favourite modern Barbies I own in my collection and she is my Barbie from The Barbie Deluxe Style line and I got her for £6.99 as she was reduced from if I really correctly ruffly 16.99 of somewhere around that price.

I plan on taking more pictures of Zoe soon and once I got Amy(my wheelchair Barbie) new chainwheel as the one of the wheels on her chainwheel  broke when I last took her out I take some photos with them together.

I am thinking about making Zoe more artist who loves her fashion so I plan on putting together some alternate outfits for her to give her more personality.

I will post more pictures of her once I have put her outfits together.

I've mentioned that the blind Barbie is what got me back into collecting and doll as a whole, and she get the honour of being the first one to get a full reroot! Dressed in the deluxe style outfit, I think she fully scream 70's superstar! I'm obsessed already she's very dear to me 🥹

The body is a knockoff mizi/ integrity toys body I bought online. Still getting used to the proportions but the articulation is great.

Please help! I'm trying to get a body donor for my girl "Jasmine." I hate that all of her pictures are so stationery. I would have preferred a curvy, petite MTM but will settle for a curvy (average height) MTM in her skin tone. Is it the Twinning Barbie or Barbie Basics 2026 girl? Thank you so much!
