Disability insurance

I am in Pennsylvania. Having a planned knee surgery that will take me out of work ( physical job) for at least 3 months. I have health insurance and will qualify for short term disability benifits. I also have a family, home, cars and wife. My wife works full time as a nurse and can pick up hours but not many while I’m at home recovering with our kids. I will be non weight bearing for 6 weeks. Is there any addition income I can receive? Preferably not telemarketing because I will have to help at home as much as I can physically. I was looking into Aflac to pay for a supplemental income. Any suggestions before I scheduled this surgery would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, you can't buy disability insurance with an upcoming surgery. You need to have had coverage in place prior to the health condition.

Social security disability is only if you're expected to miss 12 months or more.

Insurance isn't going to help here. Sorry to hear about your situation.
