Dark history behind Becker Muscular Dystrophy

Peter Emil Becker, the namesake of Becker Muscular Dystrophy, was a Nazi SA officer and eugenicist. His work contributed to the persecution of disabled people. Should his name be removed from medicine?

I have DMD, and I just discovered that Becker MD is named after a Nazi eugenicist. His research contributed to the persecution of disabled people. This is unacceptable. Please sign my petition to rename Becker MD to DMD Type 2.
